I thought this was a pretty good interpretation. Robin Williams does well when he's not all ADHD-y.

Robin Williams plays a robot that will never grow old, but longs to be human (kinda like Data on Star Trek) in this story that better fits the Asimov idea of I, Robot than the later Wil Smith actioner. The robit is purchased and lives among humans for 2 centuries. These centuries go by in quick vignettes until he eventually falls in love with a descendant of the owner.

What a very touching story from Chris Columbus... He's the master for creating a great family movie... Robin Williams shows pretty good acting here, even from his sound I know that he's hard trying to be a robot... And the ending, it really really makes me cry... That one is one of the best movie ending I've ever seen, the touching one... Now Chris Columbus movies becomes my favorite... I really really wanted to see this movie again...

An excellent adaptaion of Isaac Asimov's story. Bicentennial Man chronicles the struggle of robot NDR-114 (Andrew) to become human. Despite having near immortality, Andrew constantly strives, over the course of 200 years, to be more and more like the humans under which he serves, until he ultimately creates a situation which will terminate his own life, in order to finally become human.

i have watched this movie many times, never ceases to keep me riveted in williams' character. oliver platt is outstanding and robin williams, once again, demonstrates his super acting skills to bring his android "to life" --

The first time I watched this, I cried. It was so heart-wrenching and tragic, it actually made me sympathize with a robot! Any movie that can make me do that is a good 'un in my book.

Robin William once again does it! Love the ending! I mean it! Celine Dion's 'Then you look at me' makes this movie even more touching.

One of those movies you love without knowing why. Yes it does have slight problems, but it's so endearing that you don't care for its minor flaws. It makes you laugh, cry and truly care for a robot as well as making you question what defines humanity.

Cool movie. I love the premise of the story. Not only that, the visuals, special effects, and Robin William's acting onscreen was just great. But I wish the director could've included a bit more excitement into the film. The film would've been excellent if they did.

this went on for soooo long, i can't actually remember the film, like the whole story, i watched when i was a kid, and now the only memory i have of it was complaining about how long it was, and ever since then i've thought it was a bad movie, but i don;t actually know....:S

A nice take on the Azimov story, obviously not as good but still entertaining. This story is extreemly sentimental, sad yet strangely uplifting in parts. It's so sweet, very interesting and impressive.

I enjoyed this a lot more than some people did, though I do not remember it very well because I saw it several years ago. It has an interesting premise and says something about the value of life, and what it means to be human.

This is a sweet movie in the same vein as 'A.I' and 'Short Circuit', a family robot is unique as he starts to feel and think like a human. Throughout the movie he tries to become more human, win his freedom and get recognition as a human. Great cast.
