Big Brother and the Holding Company: Nine Hundred Nights
In the turbulent '60s, when drugs, sex, and rock & roll reigned, no band exemplified the spirit of the times more than Big Brother and the Holding Company. The band, fronted by legendary singer Janis Joplin, used hard-driving rhythm and lyrics to reach their youthful audience. This program contains live clips from the band's exciting performances throughout the era. Their celebratory sound was cut short by Joplin's death. Featured are some of the band's greatest hits, including "Piece of My Heart," "Ball and Chain," and "Me and Bobby McGee."
