Great movie with a timing issue. This was supposed to come out right around Sept. 11 20001. The bomb on the plane bit kiboshed that. Terrific cast. This should have done much bette.

this movie is about as worthwhile as a handful of Lindsey Lohan's shit. While I guess you could say that it belongs to a qualified entertainer, at the end of the day, it's still shit.

Why did Sonnenfeld get attached to this cat piss?

Wait, scratch that. In retrospect, Sonne...( read more)nfeld blows.

One of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Would recommend to anyone who likes Dave Barry or Tim Allen.

It was an interesting romp for when you're bored.

Sporadic bits of humor can?t quite sustain the momentum of the film. It?s not awful, but it doesn?t stand out in any way. The cast is good but they lack enthusiasm. Bland, not funny enough.

This is a funny movie. I specially like the way it was directed with lots of close-ups and cut-away shots. The story nicely jumps from scene to scene. Very short little scenes. Tim Allen is funny as always but has a relatively small part in the movie. Really great direction.

Funny and underrated, this film seems to be the smart person's answer to "Rat Race". It is not a surprise; the movie itself was based off of a book written by a reknown journalist (if what I heard is correct) whose views are always tinged with his personal sense of humor. Thi...( read more)s is important, because the movie is faithful to its source, including the main character's hilarious narration.

Randomness is also a favorite theme, with subjects ranging from Gator Fans (who soon become a euphemism for morons in general), a foot-obsessed jack-off, a toad with hallucinogenic-toxins, and three teenagers whose high-school game turns into a chase from an armed drunk mall cop.

In summation, the film is hilarious for those who can watch something beyond the simple dick joke and who do not mind semi-serious action mixed in.

Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle

Because the tone is so light, so genial and eager to please, the whole enterprise seems the opposite of prescient. It seems naive, almost delusional. full review

Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times

Based on a novel by Miami Herald columnist Dave Barry, but has none of the writer's trademark wit. full review

It's the kind of movie you can't quite recommend because it is all windup and not much of a pitch, yet you can't bring yourself to dislike it. full review

Manages to emerge winningly as an entertaining experience. full review

Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

The big problem with Big Trouble, despite a fine cast and director, is that the damn thing isn't funny. full review
