A brilliant short film. This brought Blackadder back in a very good way, introducing a great range of characters and providing an entertaining storyline. My only minor criticism is I felt it could have been longer as the ending wasn't properly explained. This was without a doubt, however, the finest attraction of the Millennium Dome.
Although it lacks the non-stop punch of the series, particularly III and Goes Forth, the group still manages to be very amusing. Atkinson is quite an actor, and I give Tony Robinson great credit for surviving his role through the entire series. If it weren't for House, I'd be a Hugh Laurie fan. Stephen Fry was gearing up to hit paydirt with the contract to record the Harry Potter series.
Hehehe!! A divine comedy that is both daft and brilliant hehehe!! I enjoyed this very much, seeing a number of my favorite english theater actors together, its silly yet its not that type of silly comedy that gives you a headache. This is like sweet candy. :)
I've been wanting to see this for ages. I wasn't disappointed either. Not quite as good as the series but I don't think anything will ever match up. I loved the show so much and watch the repeats all the time. This is a general must see film. It's so funny and seriously clever. Stephen Fry is just brilliant. Hugh Laurie in his prime, nothing seems to compare to what he used to do. Him and Stephen make a great duo. Loved that Kate Moss is in it even if it wasn't a big part. Colin Firth as William Shakespeare is just brilliant as well. Comedy doesn't get better than this.
One of the very few comedies that exist today. I'm soo happy to see the Blackadder gamg back after 10 years. It is very rare to find a comedy such asthin in todays society. I am ordering everyone to see this, allthough i suggest people to watch the TV series' before watching this film.
I saw this at the Millennium Dome and was just as disappointed with it as I was with the place. Someone forgot to stir in the jokes and it was too similar to the 2nd series which is sooo overrated! The Third series was by far the best!
This was a very dissapointing return to Blackadder, but all of the one off's I have seen haven't compared to the brilliance of the TV series (with the origional and Goes Forth being the best of the lot.)
Hmmm...flixster's idea of "movies" seems somewhat flexible. Anyway, the BBC dug up Blackadder's corpse one last time, and it's all looking rather gimmicky and tired. Not too bad, but nowhere near as good as any of the series. Or the christmas special for that matter.
What an atrocious final episode for a great series (well, set of series). Unfunny - which is a bit of a mistake for a comedy and just painful to watch. I prefer to think that the last Blackadder ever made was the incredibly moving final episode to the "....goes Forth" series
really funny its a gd story and has great actors in it and is really funny.it has alot of sarcastic humour and really different ideas which make it brilliant and so does rowan actkinson who plays his part well and is just a good film which everyone should see and will enjoy.
In terms of comedy, this film does pretty well. In terms of the Blackadder series, it's utterly ghastly. If you find this funny, you'd do well to watch the actual television program. Please! Blackadder is so much better than this!
This stuff is STILL funny! If you like slapstick kind of sarcastic humour, kind of like Monty Python's style at times, then you'd love this! Don't let the fact Atkinson was Mr Bean put you off, Blackadder is really quite smart and cleverly pulled off!
