The city that never sleeps is about to meet the girl that doesn't quit. Jessica Simpson stars as Katie Gregerstitch, a small-town Oklahoma beauty who's come to New York to visit her long-time boyfriend. But after finding him in the arms of another woman, Katie decides to lose her...( read more) cheating man and to find herself. With the help of two scheming co-workers (Andy Dick and Penelope Ann Miller) , she lands a job at a top construction firm where she meets and falls for a great guy (Luke Willson) with an even greater secret. Now, nothing is going to stop this go-getter from getting exactly what her heart desires in the romantic comedy that proves you can't keep a bright, beautiful down-home girl down. Remarkable Dick's brand of comedy and stupidity fits into this film like a round peg in a round hole. He is stupid and slapstick and annoying and it just seems to be the perfect role for him and he actually comes across as funny for the most part. Luke Wilson, who can...sometimes act...is kind of bland as her pursuer and love interest. Together they have chemistry and are reasonably cute together but both their characters are kind of shallow and dumb. The premise is generic, the outconme is obvious and you'll feel like you've seen this somewhere before.

    Humorous!
Interesting take off of "Working Girl," with fierce independence and ingenuity to trail. It has its own spunky appeal:a woman making something of herself after being jilted, rather than giving up she rises from her fall. Jessica Simpson's first attempt at such a role i...( read more)n movies. At least, its something to start off with. Larry Miller, Luke Wilson, and Andy Dick are mirthful! Rachael Leigh Cook and Willie Nelson graces this film as Katie's kinfolk! Penelope makes an interesting and appealing antagonist in this movie!

I don't even remember watching this (and I don't think I was drunk / stoned at the time either), which I think may actually be a blessing...
For the sake of our world's future, someone seriously needs to sterilise Jessica Simpson (although now that she has ballooned up a few size...( read more)s, and still insists on wearing tiny denim shorts to show off her camel toe (gag), maybe her ovaries will be sandpaper before someone wants to do her again? - still, just in case - I have the sedative agents and the scalpel, who has some make shift fallop-clips??? ;)

haha! i was laughing my ass off watching this romance-com flick. It sure was entertaining :D though I must admit, the only reason why this film had some class is because Luke Wilson's in it, he seems really cool. ;)
