This film is only underrated because of its origin. It is a fantastic movie with splendid historical correlation of political affiliation and the origin of werewolves in Romania.
This movie completely sucked, it was supposed to be based on the book but they turned it into crap. I especially hate the fact that the made Gabriel into the bad guy and Aiden the hero. Ugh, it's supposed to be Vivan and Gabe, this sucks big time. I HATE Aiden. And for those of you who seen the movie and love it, you should really read the book, so much better.
Now a lot of people didn't like this movie for a lot of reasons and they've all probably been said. So, I will only say this. It was kind of reminiscent of Underworld, except with werewolves, or whatever they are, and really crappy. I mean it was a pretty decent concept, but overall, it just felt too much like Underworld, which does the whole monster movie thing well.
I agree with Mr. Disgusting on this one, this is one of the worst films of 2007. I just sisn't like it. Boring, not scary, and terribly acted, Blood and Chocolate deserves the a place in my top 3 worst of 07.
wow!!! the book and movie are rlly rlly different. I mean Raph isnt her cousin in the book and Viv and Gab are together, and Aiden is like a hippy and Viv's mom Esme is alive and whts her face isnt her aunt, it's her enemy. i liked the book better. bc i mean it seemed like it had more detail of the wolves.
i LOVED the book!! the movie was okay, but i don't think it stayed very true to the book... still, i liked it- (it was ok as a movie, but not a book-based-movie) :)
My rating may be a little generous, but I definitly enjoyed this film. I thought the effects, however simplistic, were pulled off wonderfully and made for a great look. The story was not especially unique, but I enjoyed it. Simple film, yet pulled off well, and looked good.
It's about the girl whose parents and family were slaughtered by humans.
Because they are half human half wolf.
And the only one child(Vivian Gandillion) was came into the forest and fortunately she survived.
Then she live with her aunt. Her aunt is the wife of the king werewolf. They really believe in prophecy like untique. And the king believe that Vivian is the girl from the prophecy and she must be his wife.
But Vivian don't want that.
Later Vivian met with the young artist and she will feel very lively with him and then they fell in love. Then the king knows that and tells his son to threaten the artist.
Firstly the artist was really scared and he killed the king's son. So the king is really angry and hunt him.
But vivian can't allow to him die so she rescued him and they escaped from their wrold and they can decide their world.
My favourite from this movie is animation of changing human to wolf. It's very neat.
The whole scene is good.
I did not read the book, so I had no expectations going into the film. Overall, I liked it. The story sometimes moved too slowly, but the special effects used for the werewolf transformations were interesting, and Hugh Dancy was adorable.
Being a fan of Vampire/Werewolf movies, this naturally appealed to me so I thought what the heck. Not only did it have a good plot but Hugh Dancy was one of the leads. Could it get any better? well I think it could've gotten a lot better. I felt the plot was too rushed. Especially the way the relationship between Agnus and Hugh's characters developed. A good storyline if only the writers had put more time into it.
A werewolf and an human in love = forbidden love. My favourite! I really love the fact that it was the girl who was the werewolf and not the guy it made her breaking the rules to be with him more romantic. The scenary used in the film were beautiful especially at the beginning with Vivian jogging. Even though we didnt get to see that many love scenes between Vivian and Aiden, their chemistry was still amazing....especially when they were in the old film factory. My best friend completely gushes over Hugh Dancy but Im not sure yet....he did play a good role in this movie so maybe I will be convinced. Definately an easy and enjoyable watch.
i liked this movie, werewolves rock! and i like the fact its the girl with the werewolvy problem , not the guy. i lvoe romances! and my sister was just happy with chirs gerre taking hs shirt off *rolls eyes*. it seems themovies not for everyone though as others seemed to mock it.
Why so jumpy? That was not only a bad rip-off of the Dark Knight tag-line but also a question I asked the characters of the film.It becomes pathetic how many times the shape-shifters leap into the air,I soon became unsure as to if they were actually shape-shifters or (Plot twist!)professional athletes. It wasn't all bad, the premise of a graphic novelist (Who nonetheless writes about werewolves)ends up in a town full of them, but it wasn't the main plot of the story and was VERY underused. So again, why so jumpy?
Not a bad story, these movies always seem to fall down a little bit when it comes to the destruction of the vampire/werewolf. Special effects were not really hollywood standard, but were reasonable.
predictable and with regular wolves for werewolves, wolves are not scary animals according to me. I get the idea behind this movie but it´s just not working.
I was expecting it to be more like the book. i've read the book about 3 times now and at first I still found it difficult to follow the story line because it was so different! the book takes place at a high school and the movie takes place in Romania.
though I disliked that fact, the movie was very well done. i enjoyed it but was not too into it. I definitely do not like how they portrayed Gabriel and Rafe. and I also hate how they changed the entire plot of the story! Vivian's mother should have still been a character and Astrid should have been more influential in the movie.
overall, the only point that I am upset about is how they changed the story. the movie was pretty good though
