Someone told me this movie sucked. That person was so wrong. I was crying like a baby at the end. On Friday I had the honor of meeting bobby's son and I cried again. I just need to stay away from the Kennedy family, I think.
Absoultely amazing. I was surprised by the authenticity (except for Lindsay Lohan; she just can't get it right!) of this film and I was even more surprised to find out that Emilio Estevez directed it. Really? The Mighty Ducks guy? Wow. If you're looking for a great movie with a terrific cast, Bobby is that movie.
SPEACHLESS!!!!
this movie is incredible, it contains a lot of different feelings and emotions of different people, from all races, economics, ages!! And all comes together at the time that the senator robert kennedy is going to be killed!
The cast in this one is really impressive, the whole combination of different actors is just great and makes this movie even better!
It takes on comedy, drama, romance, its just amazing!
GREAT HISTORICAL MOVIE. AND WHAT A CAST!!!! I DON'T THINK THAT EMILIO ESTEVEZ COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB ON WRITING, DIRECTING, OR CASTING THAN HE DID. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I didn't hear the best of things about this movie but with my recent fascination with the Kennedy case and after watching JFK and RFK must die, i really had to see this and I am glad I didn't listen to some of the reviews i read.
I wouldn't say this is on the same or anywhere near the level of JFK in any way possible but it's a solid effort with a very interesting assembled cast. The movie's premises is very different although I would have loved this movie to be solely on Bobby Kennedy and his secrets.
The movie deals with random people that were present at that hotel the night RFK was assassinated and it kind of goes through some RFK issues at the same time with real montages of the former senator. I am not aware whether the characters involved are based on a true story are just made up for the purpose of making a connection in the end of the movie but either way it works out nicely and the ending is quite emotional and distressing in some way if you know the full story of that night.
This movie was soooooooo good! I couldn't believe how many amazing actors and actresses were in it. Shia Labeouf scenes high or whatever- so funny. Lindsay Lohan did a good job as usual. I could list off how good pretty much everyone was. One part with Nick Cannon made me so upset and the whole entire end of the film had me bawling my eyes out and hating the world and wishing for world peace :[
Amazing.
Bobby Kennedy was such a great man, and how he and his speeches were integrated throughout the movie was fantastic.
And how it all came together at the end...
I don't like Nick Cannon at all, but I liked him in this movie.
And what I think people need to realize is that the 'celebrities' took this job, not to promote the movie or whatever, but becuase they agreed with Bobby's and the movie's message.
I really like stories of many characters during a short period of time with an emotional core around an historical political event. I also like many of the actors and actresses in this shining movie full of stars. It was basically written for me. It tells of the cruel fate of the Kennedys, but also of how people used to care, of a time when politics mattered and one man could make a difference in the world. Itīs hope and sadness and if I had lived back then I would have been nostalgic, now all I can do is ask; "Why do they always take the good people?"
Bobby Kenendy was truly a great man! And if he wouldn't have been killed, he could have changed the world. This movie portraits the life of the people during that day so amazingly! All of the stories just becomes one in the end.. And I just cried my heart out! I just want to applaud Emilio Estevez for this amazing movie.. And the cast is just incredible! A true masterpiece!
Greaat ensemble cast! The lives of these people are so interesting-coupled up and each so different. Excellent direction by Emilio Estevez. Rated 7.2 on IMDb. The only pet peeve I have is that at the end, a cook makes the sign of the cross-backwards. No excuse on the director's part for that.
A behind the scenes look at the people involved at the hotel where B.K.'s assassination took place. More about Bobby would have been nice. It's interesting the way the characters come together in the end though.
Not boring, like my father said about it, fantastic ending, Estevez should be proud of his long coming production of this, he has made all history films proud!
Amazing Movie.. Americans must watch and distribute this movie even more than studies dare to do, this is not a movie about your past but about your present and above all about your future

Interesting how Bobby Kennedy was integrated throughout, and that his speeches and thoughts still resonate strongly today. It emphasizes what a loss he was to our country.
I was pleasantly surprised to find so many stars in this film. I thought the story was based on actual people but it turned out that this was "fictionalized." However, the story really rang true with emotion and passion for the late, great Robert F. Kennedy. The story here is about the folks who were working or staying at the famous Ambassador Hotel in southern California in 1968. All the performances were top notch as well as the directing by Emilio Estevez. I really enjoyed the storyline of Shia LaBouf as a Kennedy team canvasser. I don't know the actor's name who played alongside LaBouf. When these two meet with Ashton Kutcher's character the story goes into a bit of 60's psychedelia. As we learn about the various characters, we are shown glimpses of Bobby Kennedy on the campaign trail. He is, of course, very enigmatic and you can tell that he truly had his eye on making the future of America better. What was missing was an attempt to understand why someone would want to assassinate him. This is a very important part of the story but I am guessing it wasn't attempted because the only connection of Kennedy and his killer to the hotel was the bullet that took Bobby's life. Another point that interesting was that this primary election was the first to use the now-dreaded ballots which are read by a computer. As most of the world knows, tje Democratic party now loathes those ballots due to the hanging C.H.A.D.s. All in all, fact or fiction, this was an entertain piece of faux history. The ending was interesting too. Not because of the assassination but with the stray bullets.
Bobby is one of those films i approached not really knowing what to expect. what i got was several hours of top draw acting that propelled a compelling story line. the cast itself is something to be admired, there are alot of hollywoods finest assembled here and each of them give stand out performances. the film tells the story of the intersecting lives of different people in the hours leading up to the murder of Robert Kennedy at the ambassador hotel. each character takes you along a differnent storyline that on thier own are sometimes tender, endearing, shocking and humerous (the offset storyline involving shia labeouf is particularly hillarious)but that lead to what we know is the ill fated night that will in some way affect them all. this miread of characters allows us the see how the tragedy affected people across the board in american society, from the upper class elite to the relatively poor working classes of the time. but what i came out of watching this film with most was a sense of reverence, for a man who was simply trying to change the world for the better, it also highlights the overall tragedy of the kennedy family, two acts of violence that will be forever branded upon the timeline of american history.
this movie is a must watch movie, why not? its a part of a great history, an entire day which give a inside look of the people who works in the hotel or be in the hotel, the same hotel and in the same night that Robert .f. kennedy was murdered! it was such a great story, amazing perfomance, specially by demi moore, william h macy and robert rodriguez. i think its way under rated, i hate a boring and slow movie, but trust me this isn't one of them!
Sometimes it seemed like the purpose of the movie switched from "let's honor a fallen political hero" to "how many big stars can we fit into one movie without it exploding?!!!" I think that once they cast Ashton Kutcher, they should have realized they went too far.
But, this is undoubtedly the life's work of Emilio Estevez, and in spite of its flaws, it is a piece of filmmaking that deserves some respect, if anything for its utter scope. It definitely says something about how everybody is part of the same mold, and how violence doesn't solve anything. The peak of the film is Kennedy's speech which is audible while the camera shows all of the chaos that's going on. It's worth a watch, but I understand why it didn't get any oscars.
