It's an updated "Les Mains d'Orlac" but is actually based on another French novel entitled "Et Mon Tout Est Un Homme" (from 1965), so the plot isn't exactly original. The same thing has been done at least a dozen times before.

A neat variation on the old "Hands of Orloc" story and a guilty pleasure. Jeff Fahey is good, as is Brad Dorif in a small role. It has an amazingly scary car crash at the beginning of the film.
