But a social hitchhiker named Serena (Alicia Witt) finds her way into David's life and a relationship staggers to full blossom. As David gets more serious about his art, thanks to Serena's encouragement, Serena leaves to try out the rock 'n' roll life of New York City. David numbs his feelings for Serena with meaningless sex with her friend Mary (Brittany Murphy) and a wild mushroom-induced adventure in the woods with Jennifer (Amy Locane) and a zany drug guru Devlin (Jack Black). To Start in order to understand this movie you have expand your mind to that Of not only a pothead but a pot dealer, an artist, a drug user, a pagan, and most importantly a conservative. I have read many comments stating that the movie sucked...and that they were so disappointed by how awesome the cast was in a bad film. I feel that you have to stand back and view the film through the characters eyes. one at a time. Really the movie to me is about the constant struggle a habitual drug user has to grasping there own personal reality. sure the movie really had no plot, but dose life really have a plot? sure its presumed to be a comedy...and I'm sure that some people found it hilarious. The Movie to me is about struggle..plane and simple

It's a Fistful of Resin. lol I don't know quite what to say about this film other than the fact that it's worth a laugh. Luke Wilson stars as a preppy burnout who's home burns down in a smoke-out splendor, then moves in with his friend played by the crazy yet oh so funny Andy Dick. Wilson has his misadventures collecting shrooms and dropping acid at a friend's "pot farm" with his high and horny friend portrayed by Brittany Murphy, and with his "ex-girlfriend" played by Alicia Witt who finds herself in unsavory scenarios as she's "moving on" with her life. Kind of difficult to give a distinct review of this film because it is what it is, bongwater.

It really was that bad. Sure, there were some funny quotes, but for the most part, it was just a bunch of scenes that had nothing to do with each other thrown together. The end result was a big, drugged-out mess.

Hilarious movie! Filled with tons of laughter and great sequences of comedy. A must-see! That's if you dig good laughs at any expense.
