A ridiculously poor Horror movie, captures the bad parts of 80?s Horror, yet updated to recent years. No scary parts, no tense moments, no thought provoking ?play on your mind? moments, just very dull.

Seen it all before, repetitive bollocks. I can't really say one good thing about it. I suppose at times the atmosphere in certain scenes was rather impressive, but other than that it's the same old stuff. The fact that it ends with revealing the boogeyman to be a CGI version of s...( read more)omeone in blackface is both hilarious and awkward. God knows how this spawned 2 sequels and it's even more perplexing as to why I will watch them.

I'll admit, I was impressed...with myself. I can't believe I somehow found the fortitude to endure this travesty of a horror movie.

Yet, I consider it as barely average because the photography work is clean and well done.

I think many people had high expectations for this film since it was made by a renowned director marina de van and featured Italian siren, Monica Belluci who had starred in highly acclaimed films. But this flick, with its many different past and present interferances, confuses th...( read more)e viewers and messes everything up just when you think you get it, you do not, at all. Do not waste your time watching this film.
I think most people like to watch coming-of-age films mainly and primarily on the sex that happens. This film disapppoints on that but broguht on an entirely satisfying ending. Though it might not be to everyone's taste. Slick performances but I do expect a bit more.

So, until the last 15 minutes or so, I was trying to remember why I hated this movie, and then bam! The last 15 minutes happened and refreshed my memory. Everything up to that point, while not perfect was assuredly good, but the ending is so stupid, and it looked bad, and the wor...( read more)st crime of all, doesn't make sense with the rest of the movie.
