Good movie over all but you seen it dozens of times over.Always like Christen Duguay movies from screamers, art of war and the assignment to name the good ones. Its surpose to be based on true events but you can be the judge. The performances are good but not outstanding but over a...( read more)ll a good watch and was never boring.

Ok, you know those episodes of Maury or Sally or some other talk show that would bring troubled teens to boot camps? Well picture what you happen if, say, the OC decided to do an storyline on one of those... Got it? Well then you've basically pictured exactly what this film is.
W...( read more)hat's worse is the little titles at the beginning and end like to make this film into a message about the gritty "reality" of these camps, but the actually content of the film really doesn't illustrate the message well.
Unless you NEED to see Mila Kunis in more dramatic roles, don't see this film.

I really wasn't expecting much from this movie, thought it was going to be a waste of my time. But it was actually good. Mila Kunis is the lead in this movie along with Gregory Smith, and I thought they were good together. It's said to be based on true events that happened in boot camps of the 70's told in today's time. The whole movie was a surprise, and was something I have never seen before. The abuse that goes on in this movie is alarming considering it is based on true happenings. It's definitely frightening to think that some of these camps still exist. Parents sending away there children because they are out of control without having any contact with them the entire time just blows my mind. What kind of parent is that?
There's also a bit of a love story in the mix of all this, and in a sick way it's kind of sweet what Sophie's boyfriend Ben does for her. It's a good movie with good acting. I don't think anyone would have this on their list of movie's to see, but I think it should be. Great watch.

This took me by surprise, as it is DTDVD (I believe), and sounded like it would be preachy. Boy, was I wrong. This was an engaging look at how quickly parents will get rid of their kids, and never ask what's happening. The acting is very good, although sometimes they seemed too e...( read more)arnest and not grounded enough, but I attribute this to their relativly young age. The director keeps things very tight and doesn't meander. The only real problem I had was the score, which was overbearing at times, and drowned out some of the dialogue.

Je suis contente de retrouver l'acteur qui m'a marqué étant jeune, dans La petite espionne! C'est un bon film qui te persuade d'être sage, sans même y être aller!

This Movie Was Actually Decent...Mila Kunis is a good actress

Much better than it's straight-to-DVD nature would tell you. Kunis isn't going to blow you away with her über acting skills, but she is perfectly fine as the lead. The only thing that pissed me off about her role is she has no less than THREE, 1.. 2.. 3.. shower scenes and there ...( read more)isn't even the hint of side-boob.. and then when you get a full-on nice side shot her head isn't in frame so it's painfully obvious they used a double. Fuck that! That's being nitpicky. It was good regardless.
