His backward behavior generates strong reactions around him, exposing prejudices and hypocrisies in American culture. In some cases, Borat's interview subjects embrace his outrageous views on race and sex by agreeing with him, while others attempt to offer a patriotic lesson in Western values.

Unlike his Ali G film outing, Sacha Baron Cohen wisely films Borat in the same way he had with the TV series. Part documentary style, half skit. The result is a hilarious original comedy that upset people as much as it did entertain them, which is always the sign of a comedians? ...( read more)job well done. Getting Larry Charles, from Seinfeld fame to direct was also a clever move.

"My country send me to United States to make movie-film. Please, come and see my film. If it not success, I will be execute."

If there's one thing I respect in the world of entertainment is when someone obviously talented comes up with a piece of work that gets the entire world ...( read more)on an alert. Sacha Baron Cohen did that with 'Borat', the funniest movie of its release year.

Borat is much more versatile than Sacha Cohen's other notable on-screen characters, Ali G and Bruno. Both of the latter are so over the top but, for me, it's not hard to imagine that a person (persons) like Borat would actually exist somewhere. Not necessarily in Kazakstan but somewhere...

Cohen has made Borat into a genuine person. All of the other persons in the movie are, supposedly, not aware of the fact that Borat's adventures are not actually a real documentary but a comedy made with great expertise.

Cohen made a huge impression on me with his comedic talent. Ali G was obnoxious and pretty much one dimensional but Borat is, yes obnoxious, but he's like a crossing of a young kid and an old teenager. The kid wants to experience and understand new things. The old teenager again, is in it for the "sexy time".

"The only thing keeping me going was my dream of one day holding Pamela in my arms and making romance explosion on her stomach."

Cohen did receive an Academy Award for his script. It may have been somewhat of a surprise but I appreciate the persons who nominate the possible recipients of the golden statue. Can you recall the last time a film similar to 'Borat' got nominated for anything other than a Razzie Award? He didn't win but at last the old farts and fartets, who are behind the scenes, gave some respect to an unorthodox comedy.

I've seen 'Borat' at least four times by now. Even though the comedy is very effective, and will surely give you scenes that will make you squirm of laughter, the film isn't as effective or startling as it was for the first two viewings. But still, for all of you who have not seen it, do yourself a favor and watch 'Borat'! Even if you'd hate it, at least you've seen it and know what people are talking about when discussing films that have had a huge effect on the world of entertainment.

Oh yeah and the story is about a Kazakstanian character called Borat who's going to US of A to marry Pamela Anderson. Little does she know about it though...

"When you chase a dream, especially one with plastic chests, you sometimes do not see what is right in front of you."
