(Wine a little ..You?ll feel better) & I?d say have your OWN wine tasting while watching. Open a French & a Cali?Napa Valley wine & see how you like the dif.) It was interesting. Not usual sort but you know me.. there had to be some actor in it which was the case. But Besides C...( read more)hris Pine the guy that played the President in Inipendence Day was in it & Freddy Rodriguez (grindhouse) & Alan Rickman sound truly like a Snooty Brit. (hey He thins the French wines are the best.. me I?ll pref. the ?spirits? they?ve got more kick. However?I don?t usually like wines but there?s a Blueberry one in Alaska that?s pardon the pun.. Smashing! There is also another I liked my Uncle had & we can?t find it. But currently we have something Bluemoon Blueberry from Montezuma Winery. (no idea where/when we got it but apparently Blueberry wine & I get along. ) The movie had its wits, Brits, snobs & according to the French..Hicks. Relaxed watching it on Turkey day (but too early for me to drink even a wine I like.) Oh yeah forgot to mention LOL This is supposed to be at the START of the Nappa Valley wineries. Back in 1976 so Chris Pine w/ long blond hair (LMAO!!! Reminds me of an X) the music of course is a lot of stuff my ?old ass? likes & oddly I?m going to give it a B-

The first half of the movie was terribly slow but the ending made up for it.

Dealable viewing, dragged in parts like the slacker son storyline, but definitely made me crave a nice California red. A little more sappy then funny, Rickman and Farina were a little to caricature, a bit of a waste of their talent.

In 1976 the French held a blind taste test to determine if the new Nappa Valley region of California could really make wines that compared with those of their own classics.
Bottle Shock is the true story of Jim and Bo Barrett and their Chateau Montelena vineyard.
I have always ...( read more)liked Bill Pullman, so it was nice to see him in this. I have also been a fan of Alan Rickman since Die Hard. I always get such a kick out of the characters he portrays. I loved that Eliza Dushku was cast as Joe. She is stunning and I always seem to be mesmerized by her. I just wish she had more screen time in this one. Also, I like Rachael Taylor in this film. She is a beautiful actress as well.
Bottle Shock is a good movie, I did enjoy it. Although for the most part the film did seem very slow.
I am an avid wine fan, a self proclaimed wino if you will. I think I would much rather drink the wine, then watch a story about it. But, it was a good movie.

Enjoyable movie, good sense of humor. It was haphazardly edited in a couple spots, but I liked the story. Worth renting.

Not as bad as it is made out to be.
midly enetertaining movie with a very good story.
Alan rickman is perfect as the vinophile in the movie.
Good casting all around, and a story about hope, redemption, and
ultimatly liberation. Success ensures after the hard slog.
