Actually one of the more bearable of its genre which is even more impressive considering the presence of Hannigan, Forlani & Freddie who are all terrible! Don't get me wrong, it's still crap but if you have to choose between this and 'Down To You' you know my vote...

It was a good movie, but more lovely, dovey from me. Its something for girly girls to watch. Borrow it from a friend or watch it on tv like I did. LOL.

When Harry Met Sally for teens, November 8, 2004

Misery loves company. I became addicted to this quirky, somewhat surreal romantic comedy when a long term relationship of mine ended. To watch Freddie Prinze Jr. and Claire Forlani as long-time friends navigate through the minefield of failed relationships and teen angst only to eventually consider getting together themselves seemed like the perfect anecdotal medecine to relieve what I was going through at that time. Yes, it's ultimately a funny and touching drama that taps into that need for comfortable feel good stories to put the sparkle back into life. Really, it bears more than a striking resemblance to WHEN HARRY MET SALLY in both structure and themes. (Is it a surprise they are both favorites of mine).
Ultimately my favorite part of the movie is the first half. The movie starts with a young Ryan and Jennifer meeting for the first time on a plane from New York to Los Angeles. Their encounter remains so memorable that five years later Ryan recognizes Jennifer during a football game. As luck would have it the two also eventually end up both in college at Berkeley and bump into each other in a series of When-Harry-Met-Sally-esque encounters over a number of years.
Prinze definitely plays against type here, he doesn't play a hotshot high school football star but instead Ryan is a difficult, unsure teen attempting to make his way through an engineering degree and Forlani is the confident, assured college girl who has no trouble getting dates, but is unable to maintain any long-term commitment.
Providing possibly his funniest performance is Jason Biggs (of American Pie fame) who plays Ryans college roommate Hunter (well that's not his real name but he feels it sounds better when picking up girls). From his introduction - getting stuck in a storage case to his eventual success in the girl department - his all too rare screen moments provide some great humor and lend a certain charm to the movie giving it an edge over the adult movie that so clearly inspired it.
I've seen this movie numerous times, its one of my guilty pleasures that speaks to me on so many levels.
Incidently if you have seen this movie on television the chances are that you have not seen it all. I have seen "Boys and Girls" shredded to bits on network tv.

A love story that never fails to give you the wonderful quotations of love. Got carried away with the last part of the movie. That?s the best part.

Not a bad comedy-romantic with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Claire Forlani as college students whose blossoming friendship nurses them through a series of romantic disappointments. Will they ever see that they're made for each other? Three guesses. The overfamiliar script is redeemed by sprightly direction and appealing performances - especially by Forlani, who glows with intelligence, warmth, and vulnerability.

Romantic movie that catches the heart. Was a huge fan of Freddie Prinze Jr. at the time when this movie came out. Seems like he dropped off the planet after he got married. Wish he was around more.

As romance movies go this one wasn't too bad. It showed the maturing process of the characters before it was believable that they would get together. Not like in most of these films where it is obvious they will get together because the writers think it is a good idea. Like say When Harry Met Sally.

Well looky here, Freddie Prinze Jr and his vacant deer in the healights stare. Lets give him an equally doe-eyed romantic partner and give them both equally obnoxious sidekicks and then try to pass off good-looking everyone as being miserable dorks. Ugh, awful.

Something for the teens out there to enjoy. Though I'm usually into these kinds of film, Claire Forlani annoyed the crap outta me in this one. She's so whiney! Ick.

A cliche filled movie about relationships. wow its like all other chickflicks but with horrible acting, typical teen movie directing and a Jason Biggs who was meant to "look" cool.

I can't help it. After several bad comedy flicks where the ending sucked and were flawed. I love this movie, it's cute, quirky, and leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling. Whe cares about critic's!!! This movie has my vote. Rent it!

We do not need to go into any kind of discussion about my guilty pleasures when it comes to movies. But, this is one of those situations that I find myself in. Many of my guilty pleasures star Freddie Prinze, Jr. I don't know what it is about his movies or him that make me like the movies he plays in so much but I do. Another thing that I find myself guilty of alot is the fact that I like "chick flicks." I like the sappy lovey dovey movies. I was really in one of those moods last week which led to me watching this movie again. >_>

Anyways, on to this movie. When I first watched this movie when it first came out I liked it and still to this day I like it. Call me whatever you want but don't let this affect the way you think of my movie taste. We all have our guilty pleasures. -_- Anyways, this is one of those college kid love story movies. I happen to find the movie very enjoyable every time I watch it..but that's just me. I do enjoy Freddie Prinze Jrs. acting for some strange reason. Claire Forlani and Jason Biggs were both pretty good in this film as well.

I know not many people have seen and the ones that have seen it probably didn't really care for it...especially guys. Judging by the look of things not many people even care to watch it. :P But...it's one of my guilty pleasures and a movie I happen to enjoy watching. You have a problem with it..so be it. We all have our guilty pleasures so lay off. If you like "chick flicks" give this movie a chance. It's really not too bad.

I loved this show. The way the two got together just fascinates me. I didn't like how promiscuous the girl was. But I guess they were trying to make the show seem more real. I don't believe promiscuous sex is as common as movies and tv shows portray though. At least I hope not lol.
