A classic dark tale. Gary Oldman was perfect. Winona Ryder was bewitching. This movie sticks with you. Geart for pulling out during Halloween.
The blood is the life. I've been interested in vampires for a while now,and wanted to see one of the best vampire movies ever,so I watched this one. And I gotta say,its hearbreaking but yet...pretty darn cool. I had no idea the dracula story was gonna be like this,I liked it. It was some pretty heavy stuff, but still, pretty shocking. And the opening scene, where we know what happened to dracula, one of the best scenes in the movie. i'm more interested in vampires now!!
i love this film love the stroy but why has it been redone over 54 time ? not that i can blame them it a classic stroy
sinceramente... no se porque es mi favorita...pero lo es... me se todos los dialogos, las escenas y hasta los actores. Supongo que es porque fue la primera pelicula que vi. like ever
Why only 4 stars?? Two words - Keanu Reeves. He almost ruined this sumptuous vampire epic... but luckily with stellar performances by the always spectacular Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins & Winona Ryder the film was able to retain most of it's greatness. Plus - I'm a huge sucker for Tom Waits' minor performance as Renfield.
The cinematography was very clever. Some violent scenes were filmed artistically and avoided being too gory. The costumes are very good and some of the vampire forms make me think they inspired Joss Whedon's Buffy The Vampire Slayer (the TV show, not the movie). Lucy's vomiting is a recognisable reference to The Exorcist. It's delightful seeing young handsome Keanu Reeves. XD Anthony Hopkins was amazing as Van Helsing. I couldn't stand how Winona Ryder's character acted after she met her prince though she does redeem herself in my eyes. I'd pick Keanu Reeves over "Sirius Black" but that's just me. ;)
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIE'S EVER MADE THE SCEAN WHERE LUCY GETS FUCKED BY DRACULA IN WEREWOLF FORM WAS SO COOL OR WHEN SHE THROWS UP BLOOD ON VAN HELSING IN THE MOSELIUM
Being that I have a strange infatuation with vampire movies, I thought this movie was delightful.
Frances Ford Coppola did a wonderful job directing this movie.
Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder make a great couple, and their parts were well played. Anthony Hopkins was very clever, as Professor Van Helsing.
This is one of those movies I can watch again and again. Every time I see this movie, I laugh at the comic elements, and I cry. It really is a beautiful story of how Mina and Dracula's love transcends time.
Most people disliked this film, I liked it because of Gary Oldman. He played the role of Dracula extremely well
A creepy flick with an excellent cast (sides Keanu Reeves) and overall very entertaining. Also Bram Stoker adds interesting concepts and ideas to the whole vampire mythology. The only flaws are in the occasionally cheesy feel and odd pacing.
terrible
Winona Ryder was supposed to be dead, but when Gary Oldman came into the room, she flinched! I mean, come on!
Pretty cool adaptation of the original story, and even Keanu Reeves didn't ruin this for me. Gary Oldman is probably at his best here.
I probably need to see this again. I liked it then, but I'm willing to bet that my opinion will change if I see it once more.
I was disappointed. I studied it briefly in my art history class, and the movie was highly praised by my teacher. I watched it and... I can't understand why it won an academy award. I'm stunned.
I watched this movie just because Keanu Reeves played in it... The truth is, this movie was pretty good, but I really get confused... The first movie about Dracula I saw is 'Van Helsing' and it really amazed me, but in this movie the story got different even the character still the same.. They have Count Dracula, 3 wives of Count Dracula, and Van Helsing, but in a different story... Even that, I pretty enjoyed watching this movie...
THIS!!!! Is my favorite love story... It has to be the most romantic movie I have ever seen! I give it a very firm 10...
Despite a number of flaws, it manages to be a really cool film, and for the most part just plain creepy. Anthony Hopkins is in one of his best roles here, and Gary Oldman does a fine job as Dracula in all his forms. There are some very cool moments in the film, and awesome imagery. Worth seeing if you're interested.

hello thank u for viewing the movie it is a great movie actually a love story and one of the great ones i think and thank u very much have a good
You had Keanu, the lovely fiance/husband, with all the attributes to be the great hero... But Francis made that Dracula, nevermind if it appeared as a beast, as handsome Lord, as an old and ugly Count... you felt in love with his role. The emotion Francis could generate around him made his "soul in love" coverd any kind of phisic appearence. That was great. The role of Dracul was really amazing, you could finish loving that horrible final image forgetting the image you saw but concentrating on the "soul" of Dracul's role. Incredible as the amazing soundtrack; Wojciech Kilar, look for him and listen to him. He made and incredible soundtrack... think it couldn't be better music performance
The best DARCula EVER!!!! I remember when this came out in theaters. I was 10- 9 years old. I wanted to see this film so bad. My dad took me to see it but they wouldn't let us in becuase they say there was alot of blood and sexual scenes on it. I was so upset, I cry all the way home. I will never forget the movies original song and the Video. I finally got to see the movie when i was 13 years old. I watched it for a whole week and i couldn't get tired of it. Now i am 25 years old. Great movie!!! i know people say keannu reeeves makes it dull. There is so much more to the movie besides him.
OMG who doesn't like this movie i mean the best actor in the world GARY OLDMAN is in it and it is such a beautiful love story about how no matter what you look like no matter what religin no matter what!, love WILL always perval! Katie...<3
