with a few Ken Loach features under my belt now, i'm starting to see him as more of an activist that just happens to use film as his medium to make the world a better place, though i still consider him a genius filmmaker. at times "Bread and Roses" seems to border on preaching but Loach is able to create characters that we really care about and keep us enthralled. as with all of Loach's films, the acting is very strong. special mention must go out to Pilar Padilla and Elpidia Carrillo for one scene that is utterly heart-wrenching, and Adrien Brody who is also effective and charming. defnitely worth seeking out.

Good ideas but simply put. They say Adrien Brody signed without a script because he trusted the director... he shouldn't have.
