"Makes one appreciate the life they have...a riveting drama"
Brick Lane is a street in London in a neighborhood of Indians and Muslims. In this scenario the innocent characters are trying to survive. They're suffering from the attack of coup of his own country and the prejudice of the Londoners before and after September 11. The dialo...( read more)

This calm and quiet film tells the story of a Bangladeshi woman that gets married to far away London, where we find her 16 years later with husband and daughters, struggling in her uneventful life and still hoping to return back home to her sister. How a couple of events change h...( read more)
A classy direction with a strong score for an interesting look on closed life of a trap woman who discovered the real meaning of life through errors, religion and love.
Yet another movie about the oppression of Muslim women. This theme is played out. Not every Muslim marriage is arranged of and of those that are, they usually don't end in divorce. There is also a difference between religion and culture. I'm really tired of movies that attempt ...( read more)
It kind of drags on at points and I'm not entirely sure I understood the point, mainly because nothing bad happens at the end of the movie for the cheating and what not.
This movie was going good until they ruined the affair with her stupid speech about different kinds of love. A person that lives for sappy chick flicks - like me - just wants two characters to live happily ever after. We don't care about the many kinds of love you have discovered...( read more)

Lovely little movie about finding yourself, accepting who you are, reaching for love and being brave. Oh and Christopher Simpson wasnt hard to watch either!
A look into the life of a Bangladeshi immigrant living in Brick Lane, London, with her family & husband from an arranged marriage. It's a fairly average, pleasant TV drama. The most interesting character development actually centres around her husband.
This film was well made. I realy enjoyed watching it and totally recommend it to others.
Wonderful movie superb acting Oscar should have watched this. Few movies have the ability to transport you to a different world that is right in front of your face. This movie is simply that good a must see for all movie lovers.
Thios movie was extremely well cast. I thought all the expression and emotion the main actress brought through in just her eyes was brilliant. It is a fairly bleak story, but if you want a fairly calm drama this is for you.

Beautifully shot story of a Bangladeshi woman sent to London to marry an educated, overweight, under acheiver. Bubbles along nicely but somehow not quite satisfying enough. Gorgeous shots of Nazneen's childhood home make it worth a look on a rainy afternoon.
Excellent insight into the Asian culture, romantic and funny but serious too.
As to be expected this is a beautiful yet painful portrayal of a young girl who has to leave "home" for a new life in Britain.
Marriage, betrayal, lust and friendship, her struggle to adapt to a harsh un-welcoming life in the run-down suburbs of London... many many miles away fro...( read more)
Coming from East London, and having shopped in Brick Lane many times, i should have some interest, but the story would be lost on me, id just spend all the time going "ooh, look theres xxxxxx"
