Bring It On: In It to Win It

Adam Vernier, Ashley Benson, Cassie Scerbo, Jennifer Tisdale, Kierstin Koppel

Southern California high school senior Carson arrives at the all-important "Cheer Camp Nationals" determined to lead her squad, the West High Sharks, to victory. But chic New Yorker Brooke and her tea...( read more  read more... )m, the East High Jets, are equally steadfast in their pursuit of the competition's coveted "Spirit Stick." As tension mounts between the two rival squads, Carson falls for fellow cheerleader Penn, not realizing he's a Jet. When Brooke discovers the budding romance, she raises the stakes by challenging Carson to a one-on-one cheer-off. A spectacular "cheer fighting" sequence erupts into a no-holds-barred brawl and cheerleaders on both sides are suspended from the competition. With their dreams of taking home the top prize all but shattered, the leaders of both squads realize they'll have to take drastic measures to stay in the game.

This may not be a horrible or terrible film, but it falls into the trap you would have expected the first 2 sequels to fall into. Perhaps they just weakened the ice. It reduces itself to predictable teen humour and there isn't a single charming or sweet character. In It to Win It...( read more) is obviously a cheap affair with Universal deciding to film the entire thing at their own amusement park. It's all been seen before, it isn't funny and it just isn't cheesy enough.

stop it with the sequels already, its not like the first one was a 5star film and its successors just keep getting worse

Apparently, the fourth movie in the "Bring It On" series. This is actually a cheerleader style "remake" of West Side Story, complete with Jets vs. Sharks, which by extension makes it the first ever Shakespearean remake starring cheerleaders.

You've got every possible stereotype...( read more) present: goth girl, black girl, blond girl, gay guy, bitch girl. In addition to stereotyping, BIO4 is an assault on your intelligence as well; every "plot twist" can be seen coming a mile away. My friends were "amazed" by my ability to predict everything happening ('Are you SURE you haven't seen this movie before?')

That all being said, I have to give this two stars, due to venturing ever so deeply and faithfully into So Bad It's Good territory. Seriously, the "Shets" wins the award for Best Ever Name of a Cheerleading Team that Simultaneously Sounds Like a Bowel Movement. The Cheer Rumble, Truth Off, Cheer Off, this stuff is so horrible it is beyond hilarious. I kept pushing to watch more, until I finally had to ask "Ok, when can we leave?" The answer: not until after the butt smack scene.

Uhm, yeah, two stars for horribly good fun.
