So preposterously creative and fun that it makes Hollywood's sausagelike output seem even staler in contrast. Both the comedy-horror Bruce Campbell fans waited for years and a bittersweet meditation on ageing and facing one's mortality. Works better as the former. If you're in th...( read more)e cult of Bruce Campbell, it's a lot easier to enjoy it. If not, you may not get what all the hubbub is about. It is Bruce's finest work as an actor.

Perfect off-beat, campy launch pad for Bruce Campbell's unique comedic genius. If you're a fan of Campbell's other films then this one is a must-see.

A movie with this line: "I'll be damned if I let some foreign graffiti-writing soul-sucking sonuvabitch in an oversized cowboy hat and boots take my friends' souls and shit 'em down the visitor's toilet." that is also done well is something worth seeing. Elvis and JFK are really ...( read more)still alive, living together in a rest home and battling a mummy that uses ugly scarabs to attack the elderly and steal their souls. The King and The Pres team up to take on the Bubba Ho-Tep (redneck pharaoh descendant) while also offering some great cinematography and engrossing version of a rest home. Some dialogue is cliche but none of it is smack the screen annoying, and some bits are really memorable, evoking even a hurrah when Elvis stands up to his nurse. Bruce Campbell fans will surely love this, as will B movie lovers, conspiracy theorists, and Elvis movie aficionados. Your average movie goer will get some laughs and fun from it as well.

So stupid, not even so bad it's good. Ludicrous, seemed far longer than 91 minutes. Torture to watch. I do not understand the fuss about this film, It's dreadful.

Pointed satire. Clever and intriguing. Surprisingly tender.

Bubba Ho-Tep is a terrific horror comedy. Based on an excellent and highly original short story, it is one of the best horror comedies ever made -- ranking with, yet very different from, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein and Shaun of the Dead. The always brilliant Bruce Campb...( read more)ell portrays an aging Elvis in a performance worthy of an Oscar, if only the Academy considered low budget horror films in giving out its awards. And Ossie Davis as JFK -- what can I say about such a brilliant casting choice and a great actor going out on a high note in his final role. Great movie! Great fun!
