For a movie based on a Robert Cormier novel, this is surprisingly uplifting. I don't remember the book having nearly this positive an ending. Although I'm still not convinced of Elijah Wood's acting abilities, he was fine here for the slightly-off, somewhat-detached Barney Snow. ...( read more)

I like own the dvd I appreciate it so much.its a very unique,beautifully performed film.id say joe perrino as 'mazzo' shines the most.hes just fantastic.my favorite actor.so yeah thats also why i like the movie so much.having your fav actor star in it helps^-^

touching...while seeing the movie, u can tell that it's a very important story but i couldn't understand a thing from the movie. it was sort of...cold, not gut wrenching like it's supposed to be.
