Bustin' Bonaparte (The Story of an African Farm)
The family film Bustin' Bonaparte features youngsters getting revenge on a man attempting to do harm to the woman who cares for them. On a farm managed by a man named Otto, Otto's son Waldo and a pair of orphans attempt to break-up the relationship between Aunt Sannie, who owns the farm, and the conniving Bonaparte Blenkins (Richard E. Grant). In order to facilitate the plan, the kids utilize some the animals who live on the farm. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

"The children occupy the center with thoughtful and assured performances, nailing the refreshing moral that skepticism leads the way to better truths."
‑ R. Emmet Sweeney, Village Voice
"Provides some solid entertainment along with its moral and historical lessons."
‑ Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News
"As a film geared toward children, Bustin' Bonaparte meets its main requirements: it adapts a classic novel in gleaming cinematic form, and it ridicules the foibles of ruthless adults."
‑ Ned Martel, New York Times
"As it is, Bustin' Bonaparte is an enjoyable diversion, but with more energy and style it might have been a gem."
‑ Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times
