A film I underestimated greatly and one that develops into a clever little Thriller. Enjoyable performances all around.

Pierce Brosnan once again attempts to work his way out of the cloak of Bond by playing a mad man tearing apart the lives of perfect couple Gerard Butler and Maria Bello in Shattered. Their perfect life is "shattered" when Brosnan's character has their daughter kidnapped and begin...( read more)s a game of cat and mouse that could ruin their lives forever.

The film is a nice little thriller that seems to have slid under the radar. The leads are great, though some of the situations are a bit over the top and the filmmakers do a great job of alluding to the motivation behind this whole caper without spelling it out for us in Spahetti-O's. Shattered is an above average thriller that delivers what you want to see.

A pretty decent thriller, although not surprised it was straight to DVD. Saying that it does have a strong well known cast but just has a low budget feel to it. It's watchable especially if you like any of the actors but just not as intense or gripping as better thrillers. Called...( read more) Butterfly on a wheel in the UK.

A wealthy couple (Gerard Butler and Maria Bello) life is turned upside down when their daughter is "kidnapped" and they are taken hostage by the kidnapper (Pierce Brosnan), who puts them through a series of tests to get their daughter back alive. Not only he was insane, he always...( read more) thought one step ahead of Neil and Abby. Why is he doing this? Old grudge? Vendetta? An envious colleague appointed him? He wants Neil's wife? As the story advances, the man takes Neil and Abby closer to the reason. Apart from the story this movie portrayed the lengths to which emotional pain can scar and twist even your own perspectives, even when you're the injured party.

Very original, the twist in the end is totally unexpected! Acting was good, although I think Pierce Brosnan could have done better, Maria and Gerard were both reasonable.
Storyline was good, could always been better but oh well..
For the people that like thrillers it's a recommend.
