DISSAPOINTED....
nothing to compare with his previous films
I'll tell you: I liked the long pauses in the movie. Very ballsy for a director -- to not care weather or not the audience is bored. In the end, we're just watching the tapes waiting for shit to happen and we're given no resolution either. It just stops. Even so, Cache lacks a de...( read more)
The ending got me so excited and the suicide scene was a total surprise. It just has so much to it. To have your memories regurgitated for you in film by someone whom you don't remember is so creepy this redefines being frightened in film.
I hated this. HATED. I've seen boring films before but this really outbored all the others. It's such a load of pretentious crap masquerading as a deep, psychologically dense art film. It's manure in celluloid format.
A bit slow at times, but very ominous and well directed. One of the better opening scenes of al time.
A contemporary masterpiece no doubt. Some beautiful photography, displaying a surreal aesthetic, a medium the viewer can study for what seems an eternity, only to be disturbed by an image, equally impressive as the last.
I thought it had a nice plot, and Juliette Binoche and Daniel Auteuil are very nice together, but it was incredibily boring.
I am not at all pleased to hear that Ron Howard will be remaking such a difficult and haunting film. Patient and discerning cinephiles owe it to themselves to check out this extraordinary examination of media, scopophilia, revenge and family. A haunting and frequently rewarding ...( read more)
i rarely watch my favorite films in theater...but la Cache is exception (i wish it wasn't!!)...one of the best thrillers i've ever seen..soon i'll place the link of my review on la Cache here :>
Nothing happens. Then nothing happens. Ends with nothing happening. I want the minutes wasted from my life watching this back.
Another slow moving movie, but the tension builds so much, that when it breaks, it hits you like a truck.
un hombre que no tyienen sentimientos por lo que ha hecho... un buen film para comentarlo con quien se vea o solo pensarlo
Oh yeah, the arty wankers in the cinema lapped this up. Every single review I read said this was amazing. It's not. Really it's not. It's rubbish...
One of the most important directors working today, and this is his best film to date.
I don't understand what the fuss was about. I didn't find it all that original, creative or intuitive. Instead, I found it kind of recycled and obvious in theme.
A little slow at first but worth staying with as it feels as though there will be a great climax to the film. Don't hold you breath though, I enjoyed the film but the ending, well there really wasn't one. There are two shoclking moments in the film, the first a little upsetting a...( read more)
A movie that makes mind work more than it should...The main theme ( accept or deny that you are guilty) is smart presented. The freedom to choose the end you like, makes you think of this story quite a few hours.
This movie is one of the most subdued thrillers ever. It's not perfect in any sense of the word, but certainly very different in atmosphere and presentation.
Admittedly, it is a bit of a letdown. Very little actually happens in the film, and a large portion of the plot is left ...( read more)
Such a dark film, a modern day noir, great performances and excellent direction, though this may not be for everyone. Well worth watching, make sure you glue yourself to the screen otherwise it gets confusing.
Lots of long takes, so you should pay attention. Leaves a little to be desired in the end though.
Utterly pointless and frustrating. The end does nothing to resolve anything that happened in the course of the film and makes it seem like a total waste of time.
An unconventional thriller to say the least. It has some interesting ideas but ultimatly the film is very unsatisfying with no actual resolution and far too much is left to audience speculation. In some categories this befits the thriller genre as audiences are expected to know a...( read more)
Hmm....more artsy than entertaining DEFINITELY, and that is good up until the point where it just gets boring, for me at least. Best moment [WARNING/SPOILER]: the suicide scene, using the same idea as Tesis in the real-life filming shot, the one constant shot, making it seem comp...( read more)
an intense and very subtle thriller that requires repeat viewing. at first it seems like your conventional thriller about a family who recieves videos and disturbing pictures, but this film provides an attack on society and all of us as people and what we are like and just how pr...( read more)
At first I thought it was Haneke's most commercial work to date, but this impression vanished as soon as the film ended. Like he did previously with Funny Games but in much more elegant and subtle way, in Caché Haneke plays with the audience's expectations using the thriller genr...( read more)
