Andrew Lee Potts, Breckin Meyer, Brooke Mason, Callum Blue, Jennifer Sciole, Jules Leyser, Katherine Heigl, Marsha Thomason, Mena Suvari, Mike Vogel

There's always something strange brewing at the Black Cat Café. A neurotic young commitment-phobe runs into his ex-girlfriend while he's whacked out on killer dope; a high strung control freak finds o...( read more  read more... )ut that her husband-to-be is a transvestite; a hyper-possessive boyfriend discovers that his girlfriend is an ex-porn actress; and the manager's boyfriend has a ménage a trois which he says is forgivable because the girls were identical twins. Caffeine is an eccentric comedy about these characters' hapless attempts to repair their fractured relationships as they confront issues of fidelity, betrayal, forgiveness, and commitment. During one lunchtime at this offbeat London coffee house, the relationships of the quirky staff and several couples are suddenly turned upside down by the sudden revelations of supremely embarrassing secrets and idiosyncrasies, generally having to do with their rampaging sexual appetites.

Caffeine is sort of a cross between Friends and Waiting, only not as gratifying.
The story is the day in the life, so to speak, of the patrons and staff of The Black Cat Cafe.
I do enjoy seeing Breckin Meyer in movies, he won my heart in Clueless. Mena Suvari is pretty, and she...( read more) had killer hair in this film. You also get to see Kathrine Heigl, looking sort of plain.
The story was mildly amusing, with a couple of enjoyable visual fantasies. But all in all, the whole movie was lacking something. It split off into too many directions and was kind of disorganized in parts.
Some of the characters in this film were entertaining, and there were moments I laughed, but over all I was a little bored. Some of the English accents were not very solid, and some were all together a mess.
Caffeine wasn't horrible, but I think with a few improvements it could have been really good. I can see the direction that John Cosgrove was shooting for, unfortunately he missed the target with this one.
If you have nothing else to do, and there is nothing on TV, Caffeine may mildly amuse you and occupy your time.

Caffeine is a movie which you think you know how it goes, but still watch it!

It doesn't offer much, same old story lines, funny dialogue, unnecessary scenes.

Centers around cafe in London, it tells us the story of the people inside the cafe. it might be the worker, owner or cu...( read more)stomers.

it holds right up to it, i dont find anything 'boring' or dragging, yeah some unnecessary scenes, but it wrapped up good. it's an independent movie which offer big names such as, Mena suvari, Breckin meyer and Katherine heigel (Don't see the movie just to see her, she had a very minor role. wonder why she signed this?!)

overall give it a try, for a lazy day!

    6/10.
