If there was a golden age of cinema, this must have been part of it.

magnificent. the finest shakespeare adaptation i've seen with one of the finest battle scenes ever filmed! absolutely breathtaking. it's criminal that this doesn't have a criterion and armageddon does
Arguably the finest Shakespeare movie ever. Criminally out of print in the US, but see it any way you can.
chimes at midnight is flatout the greatest shakespeare, best photo, believable acting. ok its just out of this world. if anyone new what the hell citizen kane was about, and can understand old english, this will be a favorite. something about this movie that makes people breathe ...( read more)
