A school teacher named Annie (Kelly Rowan) calls out Candyman's (Tony Todd) name five times in the mirror in order to show her class that the story of Candyman is nothing but a myth. But later the Candyman reveals himself to her and Annie starts to think that Candyman has something to do with her brother being accused of murder. The sequel to "Candyman" is just as good as the first movie, it has the same creepy atmosphere and a solid story (without being just a copy of the first). A must see for horror fans.
The Candyman moves on to New Orleans and starts his horrific murders once more. This time, his intended victim is a school teacher. Her father was killed by the Candyman, and brother wrongly accused
As much as I loved the original I was weary of any sequels of it,good or bad as they may come for the fact that the original's ending summed up Candyman's pursuits of Helen and the three main character's love-triangle so well. But I couldn't hate this for it was not a bad film.Reprising their roles are both Tony Todd and Phillip Glass with his chilling score. The narration of Farewell To The Flesh is by a Mardi-Gras DJ(This one takes place in The Gras.)who is quite irritating not only to me but the reviewers on IMDB as well,at points that could have been potentially creepy and moody with Glass' eery score were drowned out by the narration. The acting was about 50/50 which isn't bad for a horror sequel (Of course Todd was on top of his game,as always.).
Not as scary as the first one but it was still jumpy at times. Could do with a bit more blood and gore. Is is just me or are Horror films getting less scary as you get older?
One of my favorite horror films of all time. This is just so simple and classic in genre themes. I loved the origin of Candyman. Kinda lame begginning but it's so worth seeing Tony Todd again!
A stylish though inferior sequel to its classic predecessor, Bill Condon's Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh deepens our knowledge of what made the murdered Daniel Robitaille turn into the monster that haunts dreams and mirrors.
If they hoped to turn the Candyman into another iconic franchise, they really needed to try harder than this. Not bad but pretty weak in comparison to its predecessor.
This sequel to a decent but unspectacular horror flick is a rarity; it actually adds to the original rather than diminishing it in a half-arsed and soulless attempt to milk it for cash. I'm a fan of Tony Todd and he fleshes out the backstory of the "dreaded" Candyman with reasonable style.
My personal fav of these films, I found myself sympathizin wiv Daniel, endurin all he did, n becummin who he is, all in da name of love, nt normally in fav of romance bt, it seamd2pull my heart strings
This one was almost as good as the first film, but it was pretty much repeating the first film and not adding a lot of new stuff. However it does continue to give more info on story of Candyman. Also Candyman kills a lot more people in this one.
not as good as the first, but still great. i love the new orleans backdrop. nice touch with the eerie radio presenter "the kingfisher", that helps set the tone brilliantly.
