Gunfire breaks out, and when the smoke clears, one person is dead and Carlita has been accused of the crime. Carlita is innocent but isn't sure how to prove it, and she goes underground, changing her name to stay one step ahead of the law. Ironically, under her new alias, Carlita finally gets a break as a performer in South Beach, but the crime that changed her life still hangs over her head.
