Intresting and surprise movie not about a virus spreading but the after math and the effects and of 4 survivers trying to get to a safe place and out run the virus. Its a kind of road movie and is more characters driven.Anyone looking for a 28 days later clone will be disappointed...( read more). The 4 leads are great in there roles. The movie is bleak and dark and is little hard to watch in places as i was thinking what would i do in there situration......not easy!
Over all a great horror/drama movie and worth people viewing.

I was expecting a typical zombie virus movie but this turned out to be a much more character driven story. There are the classic Horror-Elements, but overall "Carriers" is a strong, heavy Drama.
The horror came not from blood, gore, or undead but from the living. What the livi...( read more)ng characters in the film were willing to do to survive to others and to themselves was chilling. While watching the movie came to my mind the news' images of what happened in Mexico with the swine flu.
Really not for everyone because gore fans will be disappointed by the lack of blood and guts but I highly recommend it to those who enjoy their horror a bit more subtle and intelligent.

Carriers is a very good movie. It had a zombie movie feel to me, but doesn't have the high intensity chases and fights of something like 28 days. And it's not a zombie movie. It does have to do with a virus of some sort, but they don't dwell on specifics, they just get start hitt...( read more)ing you with scenarios that will keep your eyes open, and some instances that will make you sink in your seat so you can be ready for what is to come. The movie just starts, and it has more to do with the four characters in search of safety than addressing the history of it. Who knows exactly what the virus is, or how long they've been going through this? Once the movie gets started, it is more like who cares.
All the actors are great. Most of the faces are recognizable (the new Captain Kirk is in it), but only one is a "big name."
There is just enough character development to make me feel bad for the characters, and scene after scene is pertinent.
And the camera management was great. There are so many movements that kill me because they get carried away with that "giggly cam" and it's hard to decipher what's going on, even if for a brief moment. I know most would say " who cares," but to have a movie that doesn't make me leave a story to figure out what's going on is spectacular to me.
It's an intense movie that will be enjoyed, and will have more than a couple scenes that will make you think "I'd do that," or " I'd do something else." That means you were involved in the movie, and that in itself makes the movie that much better.

After watching this one you will have your doubts, such as
'What you I do and how far would I go just to survive, would I do ANYTHING?'
The questions will be difficult to be answered...

Genre; Drama(yes drama indeed!), thriller, horror.

    **********PLOT**********

Determined to elude a deadly virus, Danny (Lou Taylor Pucci), his brother Brian (Chris Pine), his girlfriend Bobby (Piper Perabo) and Danny's school friend Kate(Emily VanCamp) speed across U.S.A. ...( read more)to reach a beach, a place of possible safety.

    **********REVIEW**********

Interesting...very interesting I have to say... Very satisfying performances from every single member of the cast which kinda turned this one to a drama rather than a horror movie (not that I have a problem with horror movies, I WANTED ZOMBIES!! lol). So although it's another "a virus will kill us all, run to save your life!!" movie, it's different because it emphasizes to the feelings of the heroes. It is a little slow, but don't worry I insure you that you won't get bored (you won't even notice it lol). The good atmosphere will make u feel that you are part of the movie, that may cause u some chills (or it was just the stupid air-conditioner of the cinema- why do they use "cold wind" at winter!? Uug I go to my cave make fire). Yes definately worths the watch. It reminded me a little bit of "28 days later" (which means only one thing; GOOOOOD).

PS. I loved the little girl's dad...Aaaww he was so nice :-( You will understand when u see the movie...
