Sid James, Eric Barker, Kenneth Connor

With a flu epidemic running rife, three new bumbling recruits (Connor, Williams and Phillips) are assigned to Inspector Mills (Barker) police station. With help from Special Constable Gorse (Hawtrey),...( read more  read more... ) they manage to totally wreck the operations of the police force and let plenty of criminals get away, even before they arrive at the station. They all have to prove themselves or else they'll be out of a job and Sergeant Wilkins will be transferred. Sub-plots include romances between Wilkins (James) and Moon (Jacques), Constable and Passworthy.

    One of the earlier entries in the series, this is more in the vein of mainstream 60s british comedy as the formula and team are not entirely in place. Mildly amusing kitsch.
