Better than fame. Real dancers not body doubles (except for Zoe and Ilki). Set the stage for the most recent dance films.

This movie was described as a modern day 'fame'. Maybe that was comparing to completely different movies. I dont know much about ballet or the strict competition to get in, but this movie shows two different sides of the same gendre. Between Maureen who starves herself and is miserable trying to fulfill her mother's dream for her, instead of her own dreams...to Jody who has always dreamed of being a prima ballerina. The fight to get into the American Ballet Company comes with its share of ups and down and lots of scratching and biting. Its a movie of classic versus modern ballet. Its a must see for anyone who loves dancing.

really good one, nice dancing moves. A different view of ballet. Romance, fun, the hard work behind the beatiful world of ballet.

Not high art, and very cliched, "Center Stage" is still a fun bit of fluff, and the dance sequence at the end - while virtually impossible to actually pull off live, is still stunning and fun to watch

one of my favorite falling asleep movies. I love it because of all the good music and the good choreography. You have to have been a dancer to appreciate this movie though.

don't ask me why, but everytime I catch this movie on tv, I always watch it. i just love it. then afterwards, i get horribly depressed because I never became a dancer. and then I hate it. but then it comes on again, and i watch it and fall in love again. i don't know why.

Some of the acting is comical when it shouldn?t be, the plot is predictable, and there are scenes that drag, but I?m really a sucker for these dancing flicks. The ballet, the choreography, the music: awesome.

It's worth it just for the dance and the realistic portrayal of the ballet community. They use real dancers - what a concept.

The most amazing, cool and refreshing choreographies ever put on film! Other than that, a dull, regular piece of filmmaking... but the choreographies are simply fantastic!!

5 stars for the dancing... minus 2 stars for being a bad movie.

Pretty impressive dance flick that fans of ballet will just love. I don't follow ballet or anything, but I still really enjoyed the film :)

It was a good movie & had some excellent dancing in it, but there was too much of it for me, especially towards the end. There wasnt much of a plot either, but it still maintains your interest with some jaw dropping moves.

I really enjoyed this movie. My frustrations of having ballet lesson with a cute Russian mentor. Lol!!! The musical score is fantastic... ballet is not just an ordinary world.. it's magical, lovely and even gives you goosebumps.

I love this! I use to be a dancer and this is a great insight into what it takes. The story line is great, the soundtrack fun, and the dancing is incredible

    meh, this was okay.
One of the genres I can't STAND is dance movies. I mostly refuse to watch them. But I was peer-presssured into watching this by my cousins, and it was okay. It's not the greatest movie I've ever seen, but its acceptable.
