As a big fan of Robert Downey Jr., I've been dying to see this for ages. I didn't want to expect too much as the chances of getting a cheesy comedy were fairly high. I was therefore shocked when that really wasn't the case. It wasn't so much cheesy but more charming. I felt this was mainly down to the charismatic way that Robert Downey Jr. plays his character. This film was still a fairly early role for him and you can really see his potential in the way he performs. The plot is far fetched and a little stupid but it's fun and it doesn't take itself too seriously. The rest of the casts performances are decent and carry the film well. I recommend this film to any fan of Robert Downey Jr. and to anyone else who likes easy going films with not too much else going on.
I really loved this story when I was a kid and I believe I fell in love with Downey Jr. watching this :)
Not Robert Downey Jr's best movie, but still not half bad. If you are a fan of Robert's then you have to see it, but other than that really read the synopsis and then make up your mind. It isn't for everyone, but as I said it is still ok.
i remember this flick... kind of perverse if you ask me, the whole daughter mother thing... or the whole father/boyfriend/daughter thing... it was just too creepy for me.
Robert Downey Jr is just perfect in this role. When your daughter brings her boyfriend who has the memories of your dead husband you know your in for very funny & touching film. It shows true love really can last forever.
