I watched about an hour of this and couldn't handle it any more...so boring!

This is certainly one of the blandest of the best picture winners. It's a good story with fine acting, good production values, subtly directed. But it just isn't best picture material. The period detail and flavor is commendable.

This is my all time favorite movie. The power of this masterpiece is overwhelming. It shows the heart and soul of true competition and athletes and there are not many movies like this. It is classic and the acting is superb. The cinematography is even great.

I love this movie. You can really feel the ocean breeze as the men run by it. Strong message of purpose and staying with your dreams, very inspirational.

A great movie, about athletes who competed for many different reasons.Some competed for God,some for country,and some for themselves. It is a timeless story of the different ways people are driven to greatness.
