I thought this was a pretty good remake but it was missing great stuff from the original. What happened to Jeffery? the gosling who thought he was a pig? He was awesome and templeton didnt sing his famous fair song :/ Other than a few missing things it makes up for it with its cuteness. If I was a kid this would be a 5
When I was little I used to watch the cartoon. I love the fact they came out with a rea-life version instead of animated that im sure one day my future kids will be watching and my nephew already is.
It's a good movie for all kids and the entire family. It done the original justice and that's not something that is usually said about the majority of remakes. They done there researh well and all the actors nailed there roles.
this was adorable.. i had to watch it twice to catch all the celeberity voices.. it was better than i expected , a great remake of the original one i saw.. it had me through it all.
It was a cute film. Children are going to like it, but for me there is nothing like the Animated musical one. "Isn't grand that I can understand. Isn't great that I Articulate"
Inspiring! Wonderful! Educational! Its for the whole family., I love the story itself and those characters are greaT. The words was just soo right., I love Charlotte because she believes in what she is doing., Then my favorite quote will enter "Believe then you will conceive"
Another movie I love.
I never really paid attention to the books when I was younger but when this came out, I fell Im love with this pig.. Then I asked dad If I could hae a pig, but guess what he said :(
Great for all ages I think, and a good soundtrack too.
cute children's movie. But I ask, why was the star of the film not given as much credit as his costars? I'm talking about the kid who did wilbur's voice, of course. I don't get it.
Talking barnyard animals are always a hoot and the story's a classic, but I'm not sure if Julia Roberts is that good as Charlotte. Oh well, it was cute.
Wilbur's voice kinda started to annoy me after a while. He has a little whiny 6 year old boy voice once he's a grown pig. What the heck? Good movie though, I'm a HUGE Dakota Fanning fan (sarcasm implied).
boooo. one of the worst movies i've ever seen. ppl were making such a fuss over it & then i saw it for myself & it really wasn't great at all. i love the animated one though.
Great book, pretty good cartoon adaption, so-so movie adaptation. I appreciated that they steered clear of pop culture reference jokes for cheap laughs for the most part but I found Dakotas character to be irrelevant to the story. Why was she in this movie?
As much as I loved the book as a kid, the movie was okay. Definitely cute, but with my fear of spiders, even Julia Roberts voice as Charlotte didn't cure my fear.
Not a bad movie. I read Charlotte's Web to my kids 25 years ago, but I don't remember if the movie was faithful to the book.
I liked the mix of real and computer-generated characters. It was done quite seamlessly. The story is a typical kid-friendly, good-morals type of kid's show.
Lol I must be one of a few blokes who read this as a kid and absolutely loved it even made me cry the book did. So im hoping for good things in this fim adaption. Should be really good as its starring Dakota which I think is a brilliant actress and will be a big movie actress.
I don't really know why I watched this. :D I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a kids-only-flick. I might've liked this as a kid but I'm not too sure though.
Based on the classic story, 'Charlotte's Web' sees a young pig named Wilbur, saved from death by a young girl (Dakota Fanning).
Soon living in a barn full of other animals, Wilbur learns the awful truth of what happens to pigs - they become dinner!
Wilbur makes friends with a spider named Charlotte (voice of Julia Roberts), who promises to keep him alive. Charlotte begins to write words with her web, so the humans can begin to see how special Wilbur really is.
This family film is all about friendships and helping each other. It is well written and well acted - especially by the animals!
Charlotte of course, is not a real spider but a brilliantly designed CG character that is very beuatiful to look at.
With a simple and warming heart, 'Charlotte's Web' will appeal to children and adults alike.
Well I have just returned from a screening of this film (Surrounded by lots and lots of children. I felt like the odd one out) and I must say that this film was solid enjoyment for its 90 minute running time. For a kids' movie I expected gags for both children and adults, but oddly there was limited times (Too limited for my interest) when I smiled, or even rarer, actually laughed. As funny as some parts were, the flatulence jokes were completely unnecessary and were actually painful to see in a film like this. The basic plot of the film follows Wilbur the pig (voiced by Scott Kay) who, at birth, was going to be slaughtered for food, but a girl named Fern (Fanning) saves him and wishes to raise him. As the pig grows older, Fern's parents feel that it's time for Wilbur to leave the house. Fern places Wilbur in a barn just across the road, visiting frequently, and little Wilbur meets a spider named Charlotte (voiced by Roberts) and they become friends. A rat that lives in the barn named Templeton (voice by Buscemi) informs Wilbur that he will be on the table for Christmas dinner as the food. Wilbur completely flips out and does not wish to die, so Charlotte the spider makes a promise that she will make sure Wilbur doesn't end up as Christmas dinner. To keep the promise, Charlotte starts spinning webs spelling out words about the pig. Everyone thinks it's a miracle, but will this be enough to save Wilbur from being dinner? The visual effects are quite good (They'd have to be - the film was in post-production for about 11 months) and the voice cast (as well as live action cast) are fantastic. As a young adult, I actually thought the movie was quite good, and that's saying something (I despise children films). Good visual effects, good cast, stellar ending and a reasonable script add up to this enjoyable children's film.
Saw this with some kids. Kind of brought back some good memories of my childhood. As far as I could remember it was the same as the cartoon. The death of the spider would have been a little more tragic if I hadn't noticed the three afro-like hairs sprouting from its head right as it was dying. I got some bad looks for bursting out laughing then.
