Senior high school football star Cameron Stiles (Andrew Lawrence) is traumatized when his best friend, a championship runner, is killed in a car accident while running home from a party -- an accident...( read more  ) for which Cameron feels responsible. When Cameron learns that his friend was working on breaking the sub-four minute mile, he decides to honor his friend’s memory by accomplishing the goal for him. Cameron is met with strong opposition from his football coach father Gary Stiles (Treat Williams), who feels his son is throwing away his sports opportunities. The father-son disagreement begins to tear apart the family, but Cameron continues to pursue his goal, hoping to put his friend’s memory to rest at last.
