This film is great. There's no real set. Essentially you got Bronson, who plays a half-Apache-half-Caucasian, in a bar, shoots a racist dude who's threatening him. He takes off. Jack Palance gets word of this and gathers men together to hunt him down.
Bronson, being the closest...( read more) to a protagonist, really isn't in this film a lot, and has even fewer lines, than screen time. This sucker basically is all about this motley crew of so-called good-doers on the hunt to the "Breed" (Bronson) and having it out between themselves, Bronson's odd traps, as well as trying to cause Bronson indirect pain, like going after his family.
This is a strange film, as it's more a character study, and deals with issues like revenge, duty, belonging, justice, etc.
Jack Palance in particular wears a weathered military outfit throughout the film, while he carries out what he figures to be the "right" thing to do. One can see the utter hypocrisy in just his simple existence.
It's a definitely an interesting and smart film that should appreciated a hell of a lot more than it is.

Awesome. I've been a little down lately and was just looking for some old time Western fun. This movie provided it to me in spades. The only Western at the store which I hadn't seen. How'd I ever miss this one? Some really classic Western actors portraying the bad, evil, guys. An...( read more) amazingly conditioned Broson makes them pay. What a blast.

Jack Palance hunting down Charles Bronson in a Michael Winner western is Apache gold. I had put this gem off for far too long

A muscular, lean, & ripped older Chas. Bronson goes on the warpath against a lynching Posse of rapist/racists seeking him for killing a "lawman" in self-defense. The reliable Palance and a cast of stalwart hollywood character acting experts are in in this period revenge tale. D...( read more)irector Winner ("Death Wish") outdoes Stallone by making the most of Bronsons athletic, hard, vein etched cut muscles & shredded rippled abs, shown as a metaphor for his pure warrior character vs. the degenerate mix of true criminals and disillusioned innocents drawn into the hunt, but turn out being the hunted to pay for their atrocities. Predictable? Yes, but still worth watching how the events unfold, thanks to the talents of the cast. Good stuff for fans of the "Bad-ass-mofo" genre of action films...(Note: Created Flixter skin dedicated to this film)

A not too straight-foreward tale of revenge. Charles B hardly utters a sentence of dialouge. Powerful stuff.
