Amitabh Bachchan is living the time of his life. At 65, he is getting author backed roles. He is playing as diverse characters as possible. He is getting to act against the finest actors and biggest starts of the current generation. What makes all this possible is he never disappoints. He is getting more effortless an actor by the day.
Cheeni Kum is a small film targeted at the multiplex audience. It hits bang on target. The punch lines evoked laughs and the more serious moments did not make people go out and get popcorn. Amitabh is a chef in an Indian restaurant in London. Tabu comes in one day as a customer and before they know, the 64 year old is in love with the 34 year old. Now the task in hand is to convince Tabu's father, played by Paresh Rawal, to accept a man 6 years older than him as his son-in-law. Does he? Find out for yourself.

This is a very interesting movie! Great story plot, this is an interesting take on the lives of two individuals who find love, despite the difference in their age. Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu are simply brilliant.

Cheeni Kum literally means "sugarless." The more I watch Bollywood films the less I like American. It's about a pompous yet passionate chef, who falls in love with an independent, calm, beautiful, and strong woman (30 years younger). English subtitles available. Although I feel I'm Tabu's #1 fan, the 9-yr named Sexy (Swini Khara), who suffers from leukemia in the film was equally impressive!

The Best Movie I have seen this Year.
Amitabh's versatile Performance and Tabu's beauty with Innocence has brought the spice to the movie. And last but not least "Ilayarajas harmonic music brought a classic touch to the movie". I love watch this movie again and again.

Hahahahahaha...even the parts that weren't supposed to be funny were. I admit I felt really bad for laughing when the little girl died, but there is something incredibly awkward about hearing Amitabh Bachchan screaming "I want Sexy!"

best part: good humor, no song break and no such typcial emotions happen to see in all other indian movies.
except the little girl's scenario. well that was abit more exaggerated.
it could have been survived without that kiddo.

quite catchy to see Tabu after a long break with big fish of Indian Cinema.
she herself is a very good actor but i wonder why she has been over looked by directors.
it can be a better come back, i hope

    The Good:
    - No stupid songs and dance to spoil the movie
    - Unique story for indian cinema
    - Acting was up to the mark

    The Bad:
    - Friendship with small girl is over fantasized
    - I wonder if there is such an extraordinary cool relationship exists anywhere. Director has exaggerated little more than needed.

It is a pretty good romance. Although if u like really sugary, and syrupy romances it isn't for u. it is a sugarless romance.

Not your average bollywood movie, dealing with a sometimes serious matter about the acceptability of this kind of relationship (between an old man and a young girl). It had its moments and a top-notch performance my Mr. Bachan makes this movie worth watching. All in all, this was a nice movie.

OK and time pass movie. The movie is about an affair between 64 years old man and 34 years old woman. Some people will compare this movie to Nishabd, since Amitabh Bachchan is acting in both movies. Nishabd was more like romance drama, and Cheeni Kum is a romantic drama comedy.
