  Thanks to virtual reality and quantum physics, the spirit of Aleister Crowley is reborn inside a Cambridge professor and goes on a sex-magic rampage in furtherance of some poorly defined evil plot. Confusing as hell (I think some script pages may have been inserted out of order and no one noticed), this apparently sincere attempt at occult horror has some unintended laughs (listen for the dramatic "da-da-DUM!" musical cue as Crowley's "gift" to the faculty is discovered). This was written by Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and bears all the hallmarks of a poorly conceived vanity project.

  This is SO terrible that it is invaluable to film students and admirers of the cinema of mediocre melodramatic over-reaching. Not to be missed if you appreciate how a film shouldn't be. This movie is like being raped and enjoying it, so fine the line it treads between aspiring greatness that laughably comes within reach and utter failure in film language of the "this must be intentional" sort. I may eventually add more ways of describing how this film tries to be a good work and the ensuing hilarity when it fails.

  This is one of the few films from Anchor Bay that I would throw in the trash rather then pass it on to someone else or Goodwill it. It is that bad. And I was surly caught off guard. Full of Sexual Filth, don't get me wrong, I am not a prude, this could have been a good movie, just some of what was added was unnecessary. This is the worst in British Horror, they have much better then this. Story is based on British occultist Aleister Crowley resurrecting himself. Just a bit to far out there for me.

  Strange, slightly ridiculous but at the same time decent occult horror thing! It's quite hard to describe what this film is but basically the soul of Alistair Crowley gets put into the mind and body of a university proffessor through a scientific, quantum physics experiment and thats when "Crowley" starts reeking havoc with his strange sexual ritual practices! Kinda crazy, yes but its also an interesting look into the mind of an intelligent and clever, as well as mental, bastard. As this is a film by legendary Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson there are plenty of lyrical references to Maiden and a few Maiden/Dickinson songs on the soudtrack that add to the fun!
