  A decent wuxia, with a dash of sci-fi, film from Korea. A <i>Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon</i>, <i>Dororo</i>, or <i>The Restless</i>, this is not, but it will still win a lot of people over.<p>The film starts out pretty slowly, and a little boring, with the story mainly focused on the romantic relationship for the main character. There are a couple small <i>Lord of the Ring</i>-esque battles, but they are nothing spectacular. The film takes you to just past the 30 minute mark before you actually get to the meat of the plot. That leaves just another hour for you to see what this film is really about. The sad thing is that with the slow story in the beginning, the character development still falls a little short.</p><p>As previously mentioned, the film really kicks off at just after the half an hour mark. At this point the martial arts action and some decent CG become involved. The story speeds up a little as well, taking you to the ending which is not too shabby. Still, it seemed to be missing something. Both action-wise and story-wise. You can thank the short run-time for this.</p><p>The acting is alright. I enjoyed Hyo-Jin Kim's performance. She reminded me a little of Tae-hee Kim from <i>The Restless</i>. The other characters also put on better than average performances.</p><p>There is a moderate amount of action scenes and the choreography isn't too bad. For the most part there is a sci-fi element involved that sort of keeps them from being full-on martial arts fights. This film does a nice job with the blood and gore though. There are some brutal deaths and quite a few severed body parts flying around.</p><p>If you're a fan of wuxia movies, this film will probably not blow you away, but it is enjoyable enough to not disappoint.
