Stunningly-realized, riveting, disquieting, and depressing, Children of Men tells its tale of a hopelessly dystopic future with amazing emotion and imagery. Though its ending does not quite live up to the rest of the film's high standard, the film's cumulative effect is still one...( read more) of the most visceral cinematic experiences I have ever had.

Great Ironic Sci Fi Dystopian Thriller. With birth rates falling in the world today a future without children is an ironic and fascinating prospect. A film that lures as a sci fi thriller and captures you as an almost unbearably bleak nightmare. The best cinematography of the yea...( read more)r creates one of the clearest and darkest visions into the future ever put to film. Thought provoking and unforgettable, Children of Men will have your mind feasting with questions and wonders long after the credits. Loved this film so much it convinced me to read the book. I read the book a long time ago, long enough that I don't know how much it compared to the movie. I love me some Clive Owen and Michael Caine.

Wow, brutally honest, and tragically uplifting. This is certainly not a run of the mill cautionary tale of the future. It disturbingly mirrors cruelty and injustices that are happening in the present. Grand example of art imitating life.
Visually, this is an undoubted cinematic ...( read more)masterpiece. Most of the film uses super long uncut shots which means an enormous choreography challenge, and a good percentage of them are absolutely heart-racingly breathtaking.

This is a really well directed movie with an original plot, but it's a bit long.
