While it is more true to Stephen King's original story this film proves that that isn't necessarily a good thing since our heroes are a bickering, unlikeable couple and the ending is a downer.
Still I give it props for trying to use elements from both the original film and King'...( read more)s story; plus as a surprising bonus the main theme from the original film returns too.

was crap tbh, closer to the short story perhaps but the acting was shallow and rather depressing to watch, Id avoid this one if your a fan of the series

I forgot that I watched this one late night recently until I saw a review from a fellow Flixtorian. Wish I had more to add but I agree with his review. The movie holds more true to the book but the original is far superior. (Maybe because as a kid it freaked me out). The adults a...( read more)re far less sympathetic and a darker tale is told. The inter-weaving of the book and original movie are the only reason this gets an ok review.

Not that great! Acting wasn't even strong enough to make it semi-believable. Wasn't scary either. I think it's safe to say the movie was corny (pun intended!).

The worse part beside the obvious sex scene is each and every time that little annoying kid is preaching god knows what. Not sure why i watched it, Pretty much crap from start to finish..

Not that bad of a remake....

Very weird. There was a whole bizarre teen sex ceremony with all the little kids standing around hooting and hollering. It made me feel uncomfortable.

Not the best Stephen King adaptation. It's okay up to the ending and then it gets confusing and not very well explained.
Acting is good by the adults but the children (except Newman and Nikolas) are all touch and go. Sometimes they have good scenes and sometimes not so good scen...( read more)es.
You don't really care to much for the victims in the movie and most people will be glad when their times come because they start to get on your nerve.
I didn't find this movie very scary and was not satisfied with the ending at all.
Having not seen the original yet I can't compare the two, but I hope it's better then this.
I'll watch the DVD to see if there is any differance, but I won't watch it the next time it's on TV.

    "Say YOUR prayers brother!"
