Children possessed? maybe, but basically under the teaching of the preachers son they kill all adults and nearly kill a passing couple who just need somethin to eat & some gas as they pass through!

It had a good concept and I bet the book was more cohesient. The movie was just a bit too random for me. And I would like to see the story evolve in the movie so I don't need to it on the back of the DVD case. That just pisses me of. You should never need to read about the movie ...( read more)on the matherf***in' case. bom bom bom I like Jeff Hardy.

Wow...I am certain that I have never seen worse acting. The last time I checked, this was supposed to be a horror movie. However, this crap fest lacked substance and the scariest thing about it was a rat in the coffee shop. If this movie is on TV or you happen to pass it in a vide...( read more)o store, keep going.

Out of all the sequels and remakes that have come before the original, this one still seems to remain its best of them all.

Director Fritz Kiersh (Tuff Turf) takes one of Steven Kings best Novels and gives us a fretful scare leading John Franklin (Isaac) as the oddly mesmerizi...( read more)ng preacher nailing the whole impression of the story in the head.

Synopsis: Vicky (Linda Hamilton) heads out into the road with her significant other only to hit a young boy in the middle of the street putting a halt to their plans. The couple gathers their "tuff" sudden thoughts and attempts to bring the dead boy to the authorities. But with no one around to help them with their situation, they stop at a "turf" full of children that seem to do as they please with it keeping themselves from anymore idols.

A classic from 1984 and still holding its own with John Franklin's stealthily ire performance, however, the rest of the film that carries those old style special effects simply dissolves right along with them other oldies.

Because this film was successful and downright scary when it was first released in theaters, it managed to have many sequels including a remake that played on September 26 2009 in which was more or less the same with some little changes, but I don't think the new boy who played Isaac could ever match what Franklin had put on screen.

So give the sequels a try, but first things first...watch this one.

pretty good. tame tho i thought. i loved the hunky dory ending then the slight scare then the real ending

Gave this another look for the review of the Blu-ray release.

The film has enormous plotholes, but as far as a fun 80's horror flick goes, this isn't a bad way to go. Stephen King's early adaptations always seem hit or miss, and I'd say this one was more hit than miss, but ju...( read more)st barely. Linda Hamilton in her prime, aggressively ugly children being pretty creepy and awful special effects make this a okay watch, I'd say check it out if you want to have some good old fashioned fun.

This film is noteworthy in my life because it clinched my distrust of children in general and my steadfast vigilance when they are gathered in large groups.

I didn't really enjoy this at all. In fact this film seems to have a legendary type of reputation in the horror genre and I don't understand why. It had some creepy moments but the main villain was never full explained and what was up with that ending?? They just start walking...( read more) away?? Pretty lame.

  • January 25, 2009
Quintessential 80 horror, I can't really say this is a good movie, but for a kid from the 80's and a Stephen King fan it's a must see. "Lord of the Fly's" meets a midwestern town, then add in Linda Hamilton, good times.
  • January 24, 2009
One of Stephen Kings best! A great horror classic.
  • January 8, 2009
Scary kids. The book was better and the movie could have been so great.
  • December 31, 2008
Nothing is scarier than kids, specifically gingers.
  • December 29, 2008
At first I thought: ok, not bad. Then it shifted to the ridiculous side when it wasn't about crazy kids anymore. Isaac was creepy and funny at the same time.
  • November 30, 2008
Not as good as I thought it was going to be.
  • November 15, 2008
