Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"This is a cookie-cutter buddy movie, as predictable as they come."
‑ Ron Givens, New York Daily News
"The atmosphere is winning, with the odd felicity peppering the journey with gags and groans."
‑ Wally Hammond, Time Out
"Surprise, surprise -- as Identikit film-making goes, this is glossy, sharp and alarmingly enjoyable stuff."
‑ , Total Film
"Cuba Gooding Jr. delivers another Pepsi One performance."
‑ Cynthia Fuchs, Philadelphia City Paper
"We've been here before and it's been done better, much better."
‑ Robin Clifford, Reeling Reviews
"Nobody questions this logic, but then there are a lot of logical gaps in this movie."
‑ Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"Here's someone's idea of a cool movie concept: A couple of guys are speeding along in an ice-cream truck carrying a bomb that will explode if it gets above 50. No, not miles per hour -- degrees Fahrenheit!"
‑ Liam Lacey, Globe and Mail
"As an unintentional send-up of the predictability and wretchedness of modern action-comedies, Chill Factor is hilarious. Sadly, however, no one involved seems to realize the silliness and transgressive stupidity of its sub-direct-to-video-thriller script."
‑ Nathan Rabin, AV Club
"Generic, unoriginal and pretty stupid."
‑ Nell Minow, Common Sense Media
"Willful suspension of disbelief won't do it."
‑ Kate Manning, Palo Alto Weekly
"The stunt work is pretty good, the brain work close to nonexistent."
‑ Jonathan Rosenbaum, Chicago Reader
"Chill Factor is a picture well below zero, a thriller that confuses pace with tension and wisecracks with humor."
‑ Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune
"Gooding possesses so much boundless energy that he practically dares you not to care, not to get involved, not to root for his success."
‑ Milton Kent, Baltimore Sun
"Each and every action scene is stolen from some other movie."
‑ Jeffrey M. Anderson, Combustible Celluloid
"Blends lousy screenwriting with a totally ridiculous premise, and flavors it lovingly with unrealistic situations and unfathomable directing choices."
‑ John R. McEwen, Film Quips Online
