This film spoofs a wide range of popular Chinese movies. It?s not quite Wong Kar-Wai but he did produce it, it certainly helps if you are familiar with his works. Most of the comedy isn't hugely funny, a lot is lost in translation but every so often there is a real belly laugh in...( read more)ducer. Fun but not fantastic.

Joyous Hong Kong comedy, served with a slice of ham, opera, and good nature. Who, having seen it, can forget the "Romancing Eyes" or "Running on Grass" martial arts. Funny and entertaining movie.

Funny and entertaining in a very clever way, with many references to traditional Chinese culture and some classic story plots. I simply love this film, plus Tony Leung is brilliant, as usual.

Drags after a while, but still watchable.

While trying to understand a comedy through subtitles is always gonna mean that some jokes are just lost, this more than makes up for it with some of the best visual gags seen since Airplane. It is very long and lopsided with too many jokes crammed in the first 2/3s of the movie ...( read more)before they thin out into almost a straight romance by the end but this film has a wicked sense of humour and feels fresh, unlike the tired American and British Rom Coms.
