This time, the plot is essentially a Category-III update of the Chang Cheh classic Blood Brothers, only with the addition of softcore sex and gruesome torture sequences. Cheung Man-Cheong (Wai Lam) and Wong Chung (Hung Yeung) are poor farmers who think their fortunes will rise when they befriend and become "brothers" with Man (Mark Chung), an ambitious kung-fu expert aiming to become general. Unfortunately, they ultimately discover that Man is deceitful and insane as he takes advantage of their good will and uses them as pawns in his schemes. Man also has eyes for Lotus (Yolinda Yam), the fiance of Cheung, and tries to seduce her as she struggles to figure a way out of her predicament. The end result is a different experience from its predecessor but A Chinese Torture Chamber Story II has acquired a following of its own amongst fans of Category III fare. ~ Donald Guarisco, Rovi
