Ah yes once again time to drag out this time tested holiday fruitcake of a film..poor Harry; he'll never be right after seeing mommy doin' it w/ Santa Claus underneath the mistletoe
My second favourite Xmas film after A Christmas Story. Brandon Maggart's perfomance is truly amazing, it's too bad he wasn't in more films. And after just watching it again, Jackson was far ahead of him time. The image of Santa being chased by villagers with torches in the style of Universal monsters isn't too far from how he's treated by the public today who don't want you saying "Merry Christmas". Brilliant and thoroughly entertaining. Much closer to Taxi Driver or Driller Killer in being the story of a lonely, disturbed man going insane rather than the slasher films everyone wants this film to be. I am a little surprised when after someone watches it they still insist on throwing it in the slasher genre (a genre I love, but c'mon if this is a slasher film then so is Taxi Driver, 187, Death Wish, etc) when it clearly isn't.
Possibly the worst film I have ever seen. I'm not a hard man to please, I honestly like most films, and can find good things in even the worst of movies but this is just really shitty. just not worth the time or effort to find a copy to watch. it's incredibly boring and i mean that, nothing at all happens in this damn stupid movie. please avoid.
Another 'Santa Claus killer' flix that is best enjoyed w/ some heavy spirits. Although not nearly as 'good' as Silent Night Deadly Night 1 & 2 it does have a charm all its own. Whenever I watch Brandon Maggart spirit gun that beard on & maniacally weep in the mirror gleeful tears & chuckles almost always escape from me. A fun escapade in cheesy insanity that has become a small personal cult film over the last few Xmases..I think it's the only movie I've ever seen that doesn't take place in the middle ages or a Frankenstein flix that has an angry torch toting mob in it
