Christmas Holiday directed by Robert Siodmak is the story of a young woman Jackie (Deanna Durbin) who marries an unstable Southern aristocrat Robert Monette (Gene Kelly) . When Robert commits a murder, Jackie is compelled to try and cover it up by his equally unstable mother (Gale Sondergaard). Despite the cover-up, Robert is arrested and Jackie goes to New Orleans and becomes a singer, changing her name to hide her identity.
