This was a good movie. I really liked how they changed their plans around for their daughter and her boyfriend even though Tim Allens character did not want to have a christmas. He wanted to go on the cruise ship.

"You're skipping Christmas! Isn't that against the law?"

Christmas with the Kranks is the worst Christmas movie bar none. It's a horrible, conventional, and terribly plotted movie that has nothing saving it from total disaster.

After faithfully celebrating Christmas their entire lives, Luther (Allen) and Nora (Curtis) farewell their daughter Blair (Gonzalo) as she is heading to Peru until the following Christmas. As the Christmas season approaches without their daughter, Luther decides to "skip Christmas" and spend the money on a cruise to the Caribbean Islands with his wife Nora. But their neighbours dislike their decision not to join in the Christmas festivities and try everything they can to prevent the Kranks continuing their selfish behaviour.

From square one, the film was doomed to fail. The premise even spelt doom, and is played out with predictable slapstick gags that aren't even funny, and characters that are poorly conceived and executed worse.

The festive spirit is completely sapped from this production, moving from scene to scene of terribly conventional black comedy of things going from bad to worse. Each gag one could see even if it was buried as low in the ground as the movie.

There are lots of loose ends that are never resolved, some of which never given a second thought. And the film is not at all heart-warming, although it tries to be.

And if that's not enough, the concluding animation before the credits was the final nail in the coffin and dug the grave even further.

Tim Allen is horrific here, and is given nothing to work with. Jamie Lee Curtis has lost her touch, and is more annoying than funny. The film is so incredibly corny and predictable, but it's what you get from such an appalling premise.

Honestly, this film rates as one of the worst films of 2004, and one of the worst of all time.

My god, that movie was just awful. Jamie Lee Curtis and Allen are just so fucking stupid here. There is also horrendous jokes involving botox and a snowman.

This movie was just another one of those Christmas movies that looks semi-promising and then ends up being a let-down, it seems to happen every year, hell most years there's not a single good holiday-themed movie that is released.

The reason holiday movies need to stop. While not entirely terrible, it just encourages even lower standards to be applied to yuletide cheese.

Have you noticed how much modern Christmas movies suck? I sat through this, but I'm still not sure why. The acting was mediocre, the plot was wrecked with glorified commercialism, and there really was no legitimate humour of which to speak. Terrible...

Since when is Christmas all about decorations and nothing else?? What a conceited, selfish and cruel movie! And I cringe at Jamie Lee Curtis' horrendous overacting. This was such a terrible time at the movies, possibly the worst.

Skipping Christmas is something that nobody can try, and it happened in "Christmas With The Kranks". I watched this movie, followed along with the plot, and learned that Luther (Tim Allen) and Nora Krank (Jamie Lee Curtis) were going to skip 12/25 by saving their X-Mas money on a Caribbean cruise. The whole neighborhood finds out, so the Kranks and their neighbors battle their wits to threaten the X-Mas spirit....until Luther and Nora get a call from their daughter Blair that she's coming home. This leads the Kranks and their neighbors to get back to their Christmas spirit. What a great story, so if you anyone out there is going to skip 12/25, watch "Christmas With The Kranks", and go back celebrating the holiday with your high spirits, okay? I give this movie four X-Mas stars!

Snother funny Christmas movie. With this one one can see how seriously some people can take the xmas decorations, forgeting what Christmas is really about - giving us some serious laughs on the way.
Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis performances are also an add-on to this fun movie.

Quite funny. Funny how people would want to avoid christmas and how many people would take offend. But the show does show the christmas spirit.

This was actually pretty funny, but the newer Xmas movies that come out are never as good as the classics.

It was funny when they decided to change their mind at the last minute and were hurrying to get everything together. Freezing the sidewalk and the cat was hilarious!

This was the first movie I picked to kick off my month long Christmas movie marathon 2007 (dec 1)

OK! So this was not the best movie to start with, but it's pretty funny at bits and it does look and feel very Christmassy in the last 30 mins.

It's a bit daft though and feels a bit like an episode of the Outer Limits
