The Broken Lizard crew are usually pretty good at pushing the limits and making it funny. Unfortunately with this one the funny takes a back seat to a fairly ridiculous Whodunnit type story, with lots of scattered tits and ass. The funny moments are funny, but so rare and they pale by comparison to the groups previous works. The murder mystery is kinda fun, especially with the bits of gore, but ultimately it feels like a movie with an identity crisis. See 'Super Troopers'.
Not Chandrasekhar's best. The cast was still good as always, but it seems like that struggled to make it funny and the story was kind of pieced together too. I think they could of made it a lot better. Some scenes were really good, but others kind of screwed the movie as a whole.
After Super Troopers, I had high hopes for the Broken Lizard guys. Unfortunately, they rolled out this bad spoof movie. Some of the content was good, but it seemed way to long and drawn out.
First time I saw it, I didn't like it at all. I've seen it quite a few times since and like it more and more every time. Still, it's easily the weakest of the group's movies.
Actually not that bad, don't get me wrong this is no Schindler's list or shawshank, but if you take it as a very lightlearted film you should enjoy it.
I'm a horror fan and specifically a slasher fan. Club Dread is a great parody of slasher movies, so it may seem stupid and shallow, but it's parodying movies about stalkers that kill teenagers, so... If you dig slashers though this movie is a great homage that is hilarious throughout and features a fantastic performance from Bill Paxton as a Jimmy Buffet like singer, which results in some great music (Ponytails and Cocktails).
director of super trooper, dukes of hazzard, and beerfest
same cast as broken lizard. it comedy spoof is kinda reminded me horror movie of "i still know what you did last summer".
One of my guiltiest of guilty pleasures. I can't remember how many times I've seen this, but it never fails to make me chuckle -- all the way through. Jimmy Buffet, you son-of-a-son-of-a- . . . gun, move over. Coconut Pete has your number.
Really terrific comedy-horror in a booze-soaked vaction resort with gang from Beerfest. Lots of hilarious funny, plenty of bikini-clad babes, but Jordan Ladd and Brittany Daniel are really hot and physical - WOW! Too bad that's no nude scene for Daniel only, that's what I wished to see.
"Ok. Juan Castillo... went to jail... for having sex with a goat. Ok? It that what you wanted to hear? We lived on a farm! And I got lonely! We were just a couple of crazy kids! "
Ahh, Club Dread, from the brains that brought us the comedic delight, Super Troopers. Which begs the question, What brains? With Beerfest also among their accomplishments, I think its fair to say I hate all things from the Broken Lizard group. There, I've said it and now I actually feel cleaner.
hahahaha ol' Bill Paxton owned again in this movie. not really the best story line or plot.... and Bill didn't say anything cool before he died, like in every single one of his movies exept Twister and... well I think thats it... oh and something else with Arnie... anywayz... cool movie.
