Daniel Petrie took this sequel to the original flick based on a badly hacked up script, as the original writer's idea was rejected, and the story suffers from being a weak retread because of it. The old folks return from space only to find that although they're frisky again, they can ever go back.

Not quite as good as the first, but still amazing, if not just for the amazing acting skills of the late, great Jessica Tandy!

This was cute and touching as was the first one. As often happens in sequals, it was not as good as the first but worth a watch if you have nothing better to do.

Not as good as the first one but here we have the story continuing with the aliens coming back to try again to collect their chums and we meet the oldies once more and hear how it's going for those that left and those that didn't.

Combining with the first Cocoon.. The 80's was a simple time for me. I was still a kid and growing up. I remember watching the first Cocoon as a kid when I was 12 or so in 1989. I can't remember for sure if I saw Cocoon 2 in the late 80's as well but I do know I saw Cocoon 2 in the late 90's and I personally love both the first and second movie. One of the few times in movie history where the entire cast comes back to reprise their roles including a small cameo appearance by Brian Dennehy who plays Walter. I don't care what anyone says but both Cocoon movies are very emotional and very touching. They both were defining moments in movie history and helped me become who I am today. They are fantasy films and not to be taken seriously. However, at the same time they made me think and taught me to be myself and love life to the fullest. The music to both films were wonderful and considering how the 90's rapidly became more and more about "I don't care about anyone else but myself" generation and the fact the even movies lost the great innocence and fun that movies like these had. I agree if your 18 and single and want a good fun movie that suits the tastes of today go ahead and watch something else but for someone like me who's 33 and newly married that grew up in the 80's that really cares about how the world changed with nostalgia then give this movie a watch. Sure there are moments of parental advisory but make sure your children understand the difference between fiction and reality. Also don't judge a book or movie by it's cover for that matter and try to think about what movies like these are really trying to say. Great movie and Timeless. You just don't see movies like this anymore and I will always enjoy watching them! A+ and RIP everyone who's past away in the cast.

I'd probably have to watch the first film first but I'm not really sure that this film will be good. It has got Courteny Cox in it though

It was decent. Not as good as the first one, but if you liked Cocoon you'll probably enjoy this as well.

The old coots return to earth and boast about their hard-ons/breakdance/beat the kids at basketball blah blah blah. We saw all this in the first one, thanks.

I admit..the rate is something of a gamble..but I've seen it, and I do remember some scenes. The fact that I've almost forgotten it though I saw it quite recently is one of the reasons to the low rate.

I will see anything with Don Ameche or Wilford Brimley...both of them?

I think a great movie could have been made with a camera on them as they ate oatmeal at a diner counter and just kind of hung out. There would be long silences where Wilford just looked at the paper or drank some coffee. And then great scenes where they complained, hung out, made jokes and looked at the other people.

It would probably be way better than Coccon 2 - The Return, but you watch what you're given when you get these two...

Wow, getting younger - young enough to get pregnant? Not very believable really but VERY entertaining!

"I'm going to a place where I'll never get sick, I'll never get old, and I'll never die." And yet it produced a sequel for whatever the hell reason I don't know. This one was good but the sequel was lame.

Plot Summary: The old age pensioners that left at the end of the first film come back to earth to visit their relatives... This is a sequel, and it's better than most sequels. However, most sequels don't hold up against the original film and this one's no exception. The same cast is back and the acting is certain up to par in this film, but the impact of the story isn't there. I believe this film would have done fairly well had it not been a sequel, but the magic was gone, sorta like the magic from the pool in the first film. The cast does a good acting job and they try, they really do, but this film just doesn't cut the mustard ya i said mustard LOL
