Critic Reviews

  • Jeff Strickler, Minneapolis Star Tribune

It will be remembered less for its generic content than for the real-life events that give it an eerie resonance.

  • Rex Reed, New York Observer

Ugly, predictable and dumb as dirt.

  • Peter Rainer, New York Magazine

    A stinker.

  • Stephen Hunter, Washington Post

Schwarzenegger tries hard to act but in the end the foolishness of the thriller formula becomes ridiculous.

  • Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

The result is an 'action film' mired in stasis.

Okay movie. Nothing more. Not really a cretive plot. We have all seen the "revange the death of your family" thing once too many times. I think that Arnold acted better that usual...but still... And was it just me or was there a Cape Fear reference in there?

A lot better tan I ever remember it being, this is a classic Arnold experience. Not only does he take down Colombian terrorism, he does it single-handed without and guns. Gordy Brewer is not the man you want to mess with, killing his family will result in total destruction. This movie… More
